Kobe Bryant Boulevard
Kobe Bryant Boulevard is a proposed renaming of a stretch of Figueroa Street by former President of the Los Angeles City Council Herb Wesson and council member Curren Price on August 24, 2020. It would be renamed in honor of professional basketball player Kobe Bryant, who along with his daughter Gianna and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. The renamed street would span from Olympic Boulevard to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. It would also include the Crypto.com Arena, which is home to the Los Angeles Lakers who Bryant played with throughout his entire 20-year career and is dubbed the "House that Kobe built". On October 21, 2020, the vote to consider the proposal was delayed by the council, and a new date has yet to be stated .
