Knutsford is an unincorporated rural community in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. It was named Knutsford by Robert Longridge, after his birthplace. He also chose the same name for a site near Kamloops, Canada where he farmed. He was a son of Robert Charles Longridge, Managing Director of 'British Engine' based in Manchester and first Chairman of Knutsford Urban District Council, Cheshire, England. Ref. Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island (PEI; ) is one of the thirteen Provinces and territories of Canada, provinces and territories of Canada. It is the smallest province in terms of land area and population, but the most densely populated. Prince County is located in western Prince Edward Island, Canada. The county's defining geographic feature is Malpeque Bay, a sub-basin of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, which creates the narrowest portion of Prince Edward Island's landmass, an isthmus upon which the city of Summerside is located. The geographic division created by Malpeque Bay is informally augmented by a socio-economic division between the more urban East Prince and rural West Prince, although the line of division generally varies. Much of Prince Edward Island's industrial base is concentrated in the eastern part of the county, with three large frozen French fry manufacturing plants, a potato chip manufacturing plant, and an aerospace industry located at a former air force base. Jack Turner (War Photographer)
Brenton Harold Turner, aka Jack Turner, (September 24, 1889 – October 6, 1989) was a Canadian war photographer. Life Turner was a soldier with the 2nd Canadian Siege Battery during the First World War. While in Europe he smuggled a German-built format camera with him and took approximately 99 photographs from the war zone. After the war, Turner returned to Prince Edward Island, married and took up farming in Knutsford Knutsford () is a market town in the borough of Cheshire East, in Cheshire, England.
