Knut Kjeldstadli
Knut Kjeldstadli (born 6 June 1948, in Oslo) is a Norwegian historian. Kjeldstadli completed his examen artium at Oslo Cathedral School in 1967 before studying English and social economics at the University of Oslo, where he completed his master in history in 1977. He took his doctorate in 1989 with the paper ''Jerntid. Fabrikksystem og arbeidere ved Christiania Spigerverk og Kværner Brug fra om lag 1890 til 1940''. He became adjunct professor at the University of Bergen in 1992, and then professor at the University of Oslo in 1996. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Kjeldstadli is also involved in politics, in the Socialist Left Party as well as ATTAC. Kjeldstadli was awarded the Brage Prize in 2003 for serving as editor of ''Norsk innvandringshistorie''. He was also a recipient of the Sverre Steen Award in 2004. Sverre Kjeldstadli
Sverre Arnljot Breste Kjeldstadli (14 February 1916 – 28 March 1961) was a Norwegian historian. During World War II he was a courier for Milorg. His dr.philos. thesis from 1959, ''Hjemmestyrkene. Hovedtrekk av den militære motstanden under okkupasjonen'', has been an inspiration for later works by other historians. He was a son of trade unionist Lars Kjeldstadli (1870–1934) and his wife Beate, (born Lotsberg, (1880–1965). Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. Sigvart Grini
Nils Sigvart Hansen Grini (19 February 1870 – 14 May 1944) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Agrarian Party. Biography He was born at Grini in Gjerpen as a son of farmers Hans Martin Danielsen Grini (1839–1907) and Anne Helvig Gulliksdatter (1845–1918). He was a brother of editor Daniel Grini. His niece married Sverre Kjeldstadli, and mothered Knut Kjeldstadli. He worked at the family farm for his entire life, having taken it over in 1907. He was a member of Gjerpen municipal council from 1904 to 1910 and 1913 to 1928, serving as mayor from 1925 to 1928. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Telemark during the terms 1928–1930 and 1931–1933, and became a regular member from 1932 to 1933 while filling in for Jens Hundseid who was Prime Minister.
