Knud Geelmuyden Fleischer Maartmann (1821–1888) was a Norwegian politician. Biografia He was elected to the Parliament of Norway in 1865, representing the urban constituency of Flekkefjord. He worked as a merchant in the city. He was re-elected in 1868, and thus served two terms. Together with Kirstine Solberg he had the daughter Kaja Maartmann (1851–1933), who married Ellef Ringnes, brother of Amund Ringnes and founder of Ringnes Bryggeri. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Flekkefjord
is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Lister. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Flekkefjord. The villages of Sira, Gyland, Rasvåg, Kirkehavn, and Åna-Sira are located in Flekkefjord. Flekkefjord is the westernmost municipality of the geographical region of Sørlandet. Ellef Ringnes
Ellef Ringnes (25 October 184215 March 1929) was a Norwegian brewer and patron. He was born at the Ringnes farm in Krødsherad, Buskerud to farmer Anders Knudsen Ringnes (1813–75) and his wife Maren Amundsdatter (1815–76). His father left the farm in 1855, and Ellef was employed as travelling salesman for Christiania Bryggeri at the age of 18. In 1876, he founded Ringnes & Compani brewery with his brother Amund Ringnes and the businessman Axel Heiberg. It was the eighth brewery in Christiania (now Oslo), and later had its name changed to Ringnes Bryggeri. The Ringnes brewery became successful, and Ellef Ringnes and his brother became patrons in Christiania. They invested in the construction of the Holmenkollen Line and sanatoriums in the Holmenkollen area. Amund Ringnes (brewery Owner, 1840)
Amund Ringnes (7 October 1840 – 13 January 1907) was a Norwegian businessman, brewery owner and patron. He was born in Krødsherad, Buskerud, the son of Anders Knudsen Ringnes (1813–75), farmer, and his wife Maren Amundsdatter (1815–76). He grew up at the Ringnes farm, and commenced working at Akers Mekaniske Verksted in 1860. He left Akers Mek. Verksted in 1865, and was employed by the brewery Christiania Bryggeri. In 1876, he founded Ringnes & Compani brewery with his brother Ellef Ringnes and the businessman Axel Heiberg. It was the eighth brewery in Christiania (now Oslo), and later had its name changed to Ringnes Bryggeri. Knud Ringnes
Knud Maartmann Ringnes (14 April 1875 – 1945) was a Norwegian businessman. He was born in Kristiania, the eldest son of Ellef Ringnes (1842–1929), brewery owner and benefactor, and his wife Kaja, née Maartmann (1851–1933). He was a nephew of Amund Ringnes and maternal grandson of Knud Geelmuyden Fleischer Maartmann, his namesake. He graduated from Kristiania Technical School in 1896, and studied in England, the United States and at the University of Bonn from 1898 to 1899. He was hired in Ringnes Bryggeri in 1897, a brewery founded by his father and uncle. His uncle on the maternal side, Harald Sigvart Maartmann, took over the company in 1901, and Knud Ringnes became chief executive officer in 1921. He chaired the organization Norwegian Brewers in Oslo from 1914 to 1918 and 1924 to 1929, and nationwide from 1919 to 1921. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Vest-Agder (; "West Agder") was one of 18 counties (''fylker'') in Norway up until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Aust-Agder to form Agder county.
