Knowledge Oasis Muscat
Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) is a 1 million square meter technology park located near Muscat International Airport, Oman. KOM neighbours Rusayl Industrial Estate–the Sultanate's largest industrial park–and Sultan Qaboos University. For start-up companies that require a total support package, KOM created The Knowledge Mine (TKM) a business incubator program that offers tenants a combination of subsidized offices and utilities in addition to a variety of business support program services. KOM is also home to the Middle East College and the Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences. Currently, the KOM campus boasts an undergraduate population of approximately 3,000 students. Muscat International Airport
Muscat International Airport , formerly Seeb International Airport, is the main international airport in Oman and is located in Seeb, 32 km from the old city and capital Muscat within the Muscat metropolitan area. The airport serves as the hub for flag carrier Oman Air and Oman's first budget airline Salam Air, and features flights to several regional destinations as well as some intercontinental services to Asia, Africa and Europe. History The airport opened as Seeb International Airport in 1973, replacing a smaller airfield located in Bayt al Falaj. Sultan Qaboos University
Sultan Qaboos University, located in Al Seeb in the Muscat Governorate, is one of the two public universities in the Sultanate of Oman. Most students entering the university are selected based on their performance in high school final examinations. Student enrollment has grown from 500 in 1986 to more than 10,000 in 2005. More than half of the students live off campus due to space constraints. It currently has around 15,357 students of which 7,942 are female students and 7,415 are male students.
