French Cruiser Kléber
''Kléber'' was one of three armored cruisers built for the French Navy () in the first decade of the 20th century. Designed for overseas service and armed with eight guns, the ships were smaller and less powerfully armed than their predecessors. Completed in 1904, ''Kléber'' was initially assigned to the Mediterranean Squadron () before she was transferred to the Atlantic Division () three years later, where she often served as a flagship. The ship was reduced to reserve in 1909–1910 before she was sent to the Far East in 1911. ''Kléber'' returned to France two years later and was again placed in reserve. As tensions rose shortly before the beginning of World War I in August 1914, the ship was reactivated. When the war began she was assigned to defend Allied shipping in the English Channel and intercept German ships attempting to pass through. ''Kléber'' was an express train that linked Strasbourg and Paris, France, between 1971 and 1988. It was a first-class-only Trans Europ Express (TEE) operated by the ''Société Nationale des Chemins de fer français'' (SNCF). The train was named after Jean Baptiste Kléber, a Strasbourg-born French general during the French Revolutionary Wars. Route The ''Klébers route was the Paris–Strasbourg railway, with just the following stops: * Strasbourg-Ville – Nancy-Ville – Paris-Est History The ''Kléber'' was introduced on 23 May 1971. Initially, it departed from Strasbourg as TEE 60 at 07:50 and arrived in Paris at 11:40. The return train, TEE 61, left Paris at 17:20 and reached Strasbourg at 21:10. The Lycée Kléber is a French public secondary school located in the Alsatian capital Strasbourg. This lycée bears the name of the famous French Général Kléber who was murdered in Egypt in 1800. The Place Kléber (''Kleberplatz'' in German language, German) is the central square of Strasbourg, France. Place Kleber, the largest square at the center of the city of Strasbourg in the heart of the city's commercial area, was named after French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber, born in Strasbourg in 1753. In the square is a statue of Kléber, under which is a vault containing his remains. On the north side of the square is the Aubette (building), Aubette (Orderly Room), built by Jacques-François Blondel, Blondel in 1765-1772. Kléber de Carvalho Corrêa (born 1 April 1980), commonly known as Kléber, is a Brazilian former professional footballer, who played as a left wing-back. Club career Corinthians Kléber began his career in Corinthians. He was a regular team when Corinthians won the Brazilian Championship twice in the 1998 and 1999 campaigns. Claus-Detlev Walter Kleber (born 2 September 1955 in Reutlingen) is a German journalist and former lawyer. He anchored ''heute-journal'', an evening news program on ZDF, one of Germany's two major public TV stations. He is also known for his expertise in United States politics and German-American relations, as evidenced by his 2005 bestseller ''Amerikas Kreuzzüge'' ("America's Crusades"). Early life Claus Kleber was born in Reutlingen, Germany. He attended the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Bergisch Gladbach, completing his ''Abitur'' in 1974. During his schooling, Kleber freelanced as a local reporter for the newspaper ''Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger''.
