Klinte
Klinte is a populated area, a socken (not to be confused with parish), on the Swedish island of Gotland. It comprises the same area as the administrative Klinte District, established on 1January 2016. Geography Klinte is the name of the socken as well as the district. It was also the name of the small village surrounding the medieval Klinte Church, sometimes referred to as ''Klinte kyrkby''. In 2015, that small locality was merged with the larger locality Klintehamn. Klinte is situated on the central west coast of Gotland where it straddles the slopes of limestone cliffs (known as ''klinten'') surrounding a natural harbor. , Klinte Church, along with Klinte Harbor Church (''Hamnkyrkan''), belong to Klinte parish in Klinte pastorat. Klintehamn
Klintehamn () is a locality in Klinte on the Swedish island of Gotland with 1,350 inhabitants in 2010. Transportation Klintehamn is a shipping port on the west coast of Gotland where timber and agricultural products are shipped to mainland Sweden. The harbor also has a marina for small boats. During summer, ferries depart daily from the harbor to Stora Karlsö island. In 1897, a railway was built from Klintehamn to Romakloster for transporting sugar beets to the sugar refinery in Roma. Klinte Church
Klinte Church ( sv, Klinte kyrka) is a medieval church in Klinte on the Swedish island of Gotland, not far from Klintehamn. Finished around the 1300, it is a largely Gothic church. It is part of the Diocese of Visby. History and architecture The oldest part of Klinte Church is the base of the tower, which is from the first half of the 13th century and built in a decidedly Romanesque style. It is the only remaining part of an earlier, Romanesque church. Around the year 1300, the choir and nave of this church was replaced by the presently visible, Gothic choir and nave. During this time the upper part of the tower was also added. Externally, the base of the tower has a Romanesque portal and windows. The upper part of the tower displays Gothic windows. The choir portal is furthermore noteworthy due to its capitals, an accomplished example of stone sculpture from the time. Hemse is a locality situated on the Swedish island of Gotland with 1,700 inhabitants in 2014. It is the second largest locality (after Visby) on the island. Kräklingbo () is a populated area, a ''socken'' (not to be confused with Parishes of the Church of Sweden, parish), on the Swedish island of Gotland. It comprises the same area as the Registration districts in Sweden, administrative Kräklingbo District, established on 1January 2016. Gotland County
Gotland County ( sv, Gotlands län) is a county or '' län'' of Sweden. Gotland is located in the Baltic Sea to the east of Öland, and is the largest of Sweden's islands. Slite
Slite is a locality situated in Gotland Municipality, Gotland County, on the island of Gotland, Sweden with 1,500 inhabitants in 2014. Geography Slite is situated on the northern east coast of Gotland. The town is divided by the Sjuströmmar inlet, connecting Bogevik bay with the Baltic Sea. The north, and main part, of the town is situated in Othem socken and the part south of Sjuströmmar is in Boge socken. Outside Slite is a small archipelago called Slite skärgård.
