Kliché
Kliché was a Danish rock band from Aarhus, formed by Anders Brill, Lars H.U.G., Jens Valo, and Johannes Voss (Johannes Møller). The group's original members met and formed the band in 1977 while studying at the Aarhus Art Academy. Nils Torp, Steffen Brandt, and Hilmer Hassig later played with the group as well. The group effectively dissolved after Lars H.U.G. left in 1985, though other members continued to collaborate under the name ''Voss/Torp/Brill'' and later ''Voss/Torp''. Kliché was known for their avant-garde and postmodern musical style. In performance, the group wore uniforms or overalls in order to reflect a factory, even going so far as to use a metal grinder as an instrument. They ironically quoted Mao Zedong and Buddha in several of their songs and frequently made politically charged music. Danish Culture Canon
The Danish Culture Canon ( da, Kulturkanonen) consists of 108 works of cultural excellence in eight categories: architecture, visual arts, design and crafts, film, literature, music, performing arts, and children's culture. An initiative of Brian Mikkelsen in 2004, it was developed by a series of committees under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Culture in 2006–2007 as "a collection and presentation of the greatest, most important works of Denmark's cultural heritage." Each category contains 12 works although music contains 12 works of score music and 12 of popular music and the literature section's 12th item is an anthology of 24 works. Architecture The committee for architecture was asked to choose 12 works covering both buildings and landscaping. Souvenirs (duo)
Souvenirs is a Danish pop duo consisting of Sofie Bonde (vocals, guitar) and her husband Nils Torp (bass, keyboards, guitar, violin, cello, accordion, vocals etc.). The group was formed in 1993 in Hjeds (now Rebild Municipality). The music for the band was written by Torp in collaboration with Johnny Voss. Souvenirs is best known for hits like "Han tog et nattog", "Jeg troede, du var hos Michael" and "Jeg hader Susanne". Souvenirs won the Danish Music Awards in 2004 for Danish Top Album of the Year. Roxy Music
Roxy Music are an English rock music, rock band formed in 1970 by Bryan Ferry—who became the band's lead vocalist and principal songwriter—and bassist Graham Simpson (musician), Graham Simpson. The other longtime members are Phil Manzanera (guitar), Andy Mackay (saxophone and oboe), and Paul Thompson (musician), Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). Other members included Brian Eno (synthesizer and "treatments") and Eddie Jobson (synthesizer and violin). Sofi Bonde
Sofi Bonde, born 17 November 1976 in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a Swedish retro pop singer and songwriter. Sofi was born in Gothenburg, before moving to Stockholm at the age of eight. She gravitated towards music early in her life, inspired by her father's interest in classical and dixie-land jazz piano. At seventeen, Sofi left Stockholm to explore the world outside Sweden. She moved to Paris and began working on her first demo. While back in Sweden for a visit, a chance meeting with guitarist Micke Nord of Roxette resulted in a record deal and her debut release with Independent Records (Bonniers). It contained the singles "Back in Your Arms", "Hey Boy" produced by Steve Mac, and "Little Things" which was number 1 on Swedish national radio P4 for three months summer of 2000. Love Shop
Love Shop is a Danish pop rock band. The band was formed in 1986 by vocalist/songwriter Jens Unmack and guitarist/producer Hilmer Hassig, later joined by harmonicist Henrik Hall. They found great success in Denmark with their debut album ''1990'', which went on to win the Danish Grammy for Pop Album of the Year, and are well known for songs such as "En nat bliver det sommer", "Love Goes On Forever" and "Copenhagen Dreaming". The 1997 album ''Go!'' is widely considered their ''magnum opus''. In 2004, the band announced an indefinite hiatus after struggling with internal disputes. Hilmer Hassig was killed in a traffic accident in 2008, and after performing two tribute concerts in his honour, the remaining band members reunited, releasing the critically acclaimed comeback album ''Frelsens hær'' in 2010. Devo (, originally ) is an American rock band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973. A boilersuit (or boiler suit), also known as coveralls, is a loose fitting garment covering the whole body except for the head, hands and feet.
