Kjetil Steensnæs (born 17 April 1976, in Haugesund, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (handling various string instruments, such as guitar, dobro, pedal steel guitar and banjo) known from a number of collaborations with musicians like Rita Eriksen, Maria Mena, Beady Belle, Morten Harket, Herborg Kråkevik, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Maria Solheim, Thomas Dybdahl, Sigvart Dagsland, Kari Bremnes, Anja Garbarek, Bjørn Eidsvåg, The Cardigans, Torun Eriksen, Unni Wilhelmsen, William Hut and Tom Roger Aadland. Career Steensnæs is a highly demanded musician, and has collaborated with many of the greatest Norwegian artists like Morten Harket, Thomas Dybdahl, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Maria Mena and Bjørn Eidsvåg to mention but a few. William Hut
Poor Rich Ones (1989-2003) was a pop and rock band from Bergen, Norway, comprised by lead singer, songwriter and guitarist William Hut, keyboardist Bjørn Bunes, bassist Tor Sørensen, guitarists Eivind Kvamme, Espen Mellingen, and drummer Bjarte Ludvigsen ("blue"). Formed in 1994, the band released their debut album ''Naivety's Star'' in 1996 on the local label Rec 90. Q magazine described their style as "infinitely sad and nocturnal, yet uplifting rather than depressing", calling the band "Norway's own Radiohead". After four successful album releases, including a final "best of" album after a United States tour, the band effectively dissolved in 2003. Torun Eriksen (born 8 January 1977 in Lunde, Telemark) is a Norwegian jazz singer, whose musical talents first came to prominence as a music student at high school in Norway. Eriksen was born in Lunde, Telemark. From the age of six, she sang in various gospel choirs, and by the age of 19 had become a featured soloist. With a background steeped in soul, jazz, pop, and through her choral experience she began writing her first compositions. A major influence was the world of jazz standards via the Real Book. After moving to Oslo in 1997, she enrolled at the Norwegian Institute for Stage and Studio. D'Sound (stylized as d'sound) is a Norwegian neo soul band based in Oslo, Norway. The band was formed in 1993 with a line-up composed of lead vocalist Simone Eriksrud, bassist Jonny Sjo and drummer Kim Ofstad. After Eriksrud's initial departure in 2018, the band announced that they would continue as a duo and collaborate with various international artists to provide vocals for future material. Maria Viktoria Mena (born 19 February 1986) is a Norwegian pop singer, best known for her singles such as " You're the Only One", "Just Hold Me", "All This Time" which charted in multiple countries. Early life Maria Mena was born into an artistic family. Her father is a drummer. There was a common misconception that her mother is a playwright, but Mena debunked this in an interview. Sissel Kyrkjebø (; born 24 June 1969), also simply known as Sissel, is a Norwegian soprano. Sissel is considered one of the world's top crossover sopranos. Her musical style ranges from pop recordings and folk songs, to classical vocals and operatic arias.
