Saint Kjeld
Kjeld or Ketil ( la, Chetillus, Ketillus, da, Keld, Kjeld, Ketil; 1100–1150) was a 12th-century Danish clergyman. He is venerated as a saint in Denmark, by both Catholics and Church of Denmark, Danish Lutherans. Life Kjeld was born in the early 12th century to wealthy parents, who lived on a farm in the Randers area. He was a godly boy, and it was soon decided that he should have a future in the church. He was sent to Viborg, Denmark, Viborg, where he joined the cathedral chapter at the cathedral. Kjeld Lauridsen Stub (10 December 1607 – 20 April 1663) was a Dano-Norwegian priest. He was also involved in the Thirty Years' War in various roles. He was born in Varberg, then-Denmark as a son of vicar Laurids Kjeldsen Stub and his wife Margrethe Hansdatter. He attended school in Landskrona and Slagelse before studying at the University of Copenhagen from 1626 to 1628. During a subsequent travel around continental Europe, he volunteered in Brabant to fight for the Holy Roman Empire in the Thirty Years' War. He attained the rank of Captain before quitting in 1631. He was a teacher in Copenhagen for less than a year, before beginning another travel in Europe. This time he volunteered for the Kingdom of France. Kjeld Nuis (; born in Leiden 10 November 1989) is a Dutch speed skater. Nuis specializes over the middle distances of 1000 and 1500 meters. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, he won the gold medal at the 1500 m and 1000 m events. At the 2022 Winter Olympics he successfully defended his title on the 1500 m. Kjeld Rimberg (born 25 November 1943) is a Norway, Norwegian businessperson. Personal life Rimberg was born in Bergen on 25 November 1943, a son of Sverre Johan Rimberg and Eli Lien. He married architect Reidun Tvedt in 1965. Early career Rimberg is from Nordnes in Bergen, and was an avid skier and ski-instructor in his youth. Kjeld Toft-Christensen
Kjeld Toft-Christensen (10 March 1910 – 27 November 1945) MC was a Special Operations Executive officer and Danish resistance fighter during the Second World War. Toft-Christensen was born in Copenhagen to Aage and Elna Elise (née Bonnelycke) Toft-Christensen but later emigrated and joined the French Foreign Legion. During the Second World War he served with the Free French in North Africa before he left for England where he joined the British Army. He was trained as a parachutist and in sabotage tactics in the Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment) and obtained the rank of Lieutenant. On 4 April 1944 he was dropped into Skive in Denmark to assist the local resistance under the codename "Dahl". Kjeld Toft-Christensen joined the resistance in Aarhus as a liaison and intelligence officer. Kjeld Abell (25 August 1901 – 5 March 1961) was a Danish playwright, screenwriter, and theatrical designer. Born in Ribe, Denmark, Abell's first designs were seen in ballets directed by George Balanchine at Copenhagen's Royal Danish Theatre and London's Alhambra Theatre. Roughly the dramatic work of Abell might be divided into three phases: a) criticism of middle class conventions, b) fighting Nazism and c) criticism of post-war pessimism and urge for death. Kjeld Tolstrup (27 June 1965 – 21 March 2011) was a Danish radio DJ. Career Kjeld Tolstrup became one of the biggest names in Danish DJ circles in the 1980s performing at The Hacienda in Manchester, Ministry of Sound in London, ''Sensation'' event in Copenhagen, and a big number of clubs. Kjeld Tolstrup also remixed for many artists including C.V. Jørgensen, Love Shop Love Shop is a Danish pop rock band. The band was formed in 1986 by vocalist/songwriter Jens Unmack and guitarist/producer Hilmer Hassig, later joined by harmonicist Henrik Hall. Kjeld Stub (1868–1955)
Kjeld F. K. Stub (16 February 1868 – 6 January 1955) was a Norwegian priest and politician. Kjeld Fredrik Karl Stub was born at Sigdal in Buskerud, Norway. He took the cand.theol. degree in 1892. He worked as a secretary for the YMCA in Kristiania and curate for the dean in the Diocese of Kristiania Gustav Jensen (1845–1922). In 1912, he was hired as the priest at Garnisonskirken in Oslo (1899-1901) and of the garrison Akershus Fortress, where he remained until his retirement in 1938. He was also a chairman of the Norwegian Sunday School Association, and board member of the Norwegian Lutheran Inner Mission Society (''Det norske lutherske Indremisjonsselskap''), the children's home Toftes gave and the society against cruelty to animals, Foreningen til Dyrenes Beskyttelse. Kjeld Anker Ammentorp (10 November 1895 – 23 October 1975) was the founder of RMC Group, one of the United Kingdom's largest concrete businesses. Career Born in Frederiksberg in Denmark, Kjeld Ammentorp moved to the United Kingdom in 1919. A civil engineer by training, Ammentorp took advantage of the invention of self-agitating cement trucks in the 1920s. He built his first plant in 1930 at Bedfont in London, bought cement mixers from Denmark and expanded his business into one of the largest in the United Kingdom. In 1952 he sold his company to Sam Stirling who had developed a similar business in Australia. Ammentorp remained on the Board of the Company until 1958 but retired to Denmark in 1961. He died in 1975 at Gentofte and is buried in Frederiksberg.
