Kiss And Swallow
''Kiss + Swallow'' is the debut album by IAMX and was released on 13 July 2004. It mostly consists of tracks that were recorded for the unreleased fourth studio album by Sneaker Pimps, which is dubbed "SP4" by the fans. Overview ''Kiss + Swallow'' was an extreme departure from Chris Corner's work with Sneaker Pimps. Almost completely electronic, the album incorporates driving synth-rock ("Kiss + Swallow", "Your Joy Is My Low"), lush, atmospheric, melody driven ballads ("Mercy", "I Like Pretending", "Simple Girl") and groove-based, erotic electro ("Sailor", "Naked But Safe", "You Stick It In Me"). The album was recorded entirely in Chris Corner's private home studio in London between late 2003 and early 2004. A demo version of this album also exists. IAMX
IAMX is the solo musical project of Chris Corner of the band Sneaker Pimps. Founded in 2004 in London, it is an independent music project which also focuses on and experiments with visual art. Musically, IAMX spans multiple genres from electronic rock and dance music to burlesque-influenced songs and emotional ballads. Corner's striking and wide-ranging voice, and his way of programming sounds and beats, make up the obvious characteristic of the IAMX sound. From 2006 until 2014 IAMX was based in Berlin, Germany, where Corner found "the spirit to care less about the music industry and take an independent route." Berlin is also mentioned in IAMX's lyrics that concern subjects such as sexual identity, death, love, narcotic intoxication, decadence, critique of religion and politics, alienation, addiction, modern society, and gender bending. "Kiss and Swallow" is the first single to be taken from IAMX's debut album ''Kiss + Swallow''. The song is highly erotic and deals with prostitution. The single was available in physical form as CDS and 12". It was also released as a digital download. On 3 July 2020 the digital download version was re-released. The video was filmed in black, white and pink and shows Chris in silhouette form as he dances about, surrounded by various things that pop up on the screen. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. MOONBOOTICA is the pseudonym of Hamburg DJs KoweSix (Oliver Kowalski) and Tobitob (Tobias Schmidt), who have been playing together since the 1990s. General The MOONBOOTICA music project was born at the early Moonbootica party series in the clubs of Hamburg. Their style can be categorized as electronic music, drawing on electro and house genres, with certain hip-hop influences. "Missile" is a song by IAMX from the album ''Kiss + Swallow''. It was released in 2005 as a promo single with another track "This Will Make You Love Again". The latter appeared on his 2006 album '' The Alternative''. Music video Two music videos were released for "Missile." One consists almost entirely of an upside down, overhead shot of Corner in a bathtub, with his head underwater and a strip of tape over his mouth. Over the course of the video, the message written on the tape changes from 'LOVE ME' to 'HATE ME' to 'HELP ME' as a hand appears in shot and forces his head to stay under. Sneaker Pimps are an English electronic music band, formed in Hartlepool in 1994. They are best known for their debut album, ''Becoming X'' (1996), and its singles " 6 Underground" and "Spin Spin Sugar". The band takes its name from an article the Beastie Boys published in their ''Grand Royal'' magazine about a man they hired to track down classic sneakers. The band was founded by electronic musician Liam Howe and guitarist Chris Corner. They later recruited Kelli Ali (then known as Kelli Dayton) as lead singer, plus guitarist Joe Wilson and drummer Dave Westlake as backup musicians.
