Kise Stable (2003)
is a stable of sumo wrestlers, part of the Dewanoumi ''ichimon'' or group of stables. It was established in its current form in December 2003 by former ''maegashira'' and Nihon University amateur champion Higonoumi, who branched off from Mihogaseki stable. The stable's first top division wrestler was Kiyoseumi in January 2008. Its foreign recruit, Georgian Gagamaru, in May 2010 earned promotion to the top division. It is a popular destination for wrestlers with collegiate sumo experience like its stablemaster, and the retirement of Gagamaru in November 2020 opened up another spot for a foreigner. Following the demotion of Kise-''oyakata'' (or stablemaster) in May 2010 after a scandal involving the selling of tournament tickets to members of the yakuza, Kise stable was dissolved with all 27 of its wrestlers moving to the affiliated Kitanoumi stable. A ''sekitori'' (関取) is a ''rikishi'' (力士, sumo wrestler) who is ranked in one of the top two professional divisions: ''makuuchi'' and ''jūryō''. The name literally translates to having taken the barrier, as only a relatively small fraction of those who enter professional sumo achieve ''sekitori'' status. Currently there are 70 ''rikishi'' in these divisions. Tokushinhō Motohisa
is a Japanese former professional sumo wrestler from Matsusaka, Mie. His sumo stable was Kise stable (2003), Kise (for a short time he belonged to Kitanoumi stable, Kitanoumi). His height is 193 cm (6 ft 4 in) and his peak weight is 224 kg (494 lbs). His highest rank was ''jūryō'' 6. Hs is the first former amateur from Asahi University to reach the ''sekitori'' ranks. is a Japanese former professional sumo wrestler. He made his professional debut in 2011 after a successful college career in sumo. He currently holds the List of sumo record holders#Most consecutive wins from entry into sumo, record for the most consecutive wins since entering professional sumo, with 27, and for the fastest rise to the top ''makuuchi'' division from the lowest ''jonokuchi'' division (nine tournaments). The third Georgian national after Kokkai and Tochinoshin to make the top ''makuuchi'' division, he made his professional debut in November 2005, reaching the ''jūryō'' division in November 2009 and ''makuuchi'' in July 2010. is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Kasugai, Aichi. An amateur sumo competitor while studying at Nihon University, he made his professional debut in January 2008. Shimanoumi Koyo
is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Shima, Mie. He debuted in sumo wrestling in July 2012 and made his ''makuuchi'' debut in May 2019. His highest rank has been ''maegashira'' 3. Ura Kazuki
is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Neyagawa, Osaka. After winning a gold medal in sumo at the 2013 World Combat Games, he made his professional debut in 2015, wrestling with the Kise stable and he won the ''jonokuchi'' division championship in his first tournament. Toshiyori
A is a sumo elder of the Japan Sumo Association (JSA). Also known as , former wrestlers who reached a sufficiently high rank are the only people eligible. The benefits are considerable, as only ''toshiyori'' are allowed to run and coach in sumo stables, known as ''heya,'' and they are also the only former wrestlers given retirement pay. Process To become an elder, a retiring wrestler must be a Japanese citizen. This regulation dates from September 1976 and was widely thought to be a result of the success of the Hawaiian Takamiyama Daigorō, who had become the first foreign wrestler to win a championship in 1972, and had expressed interest in becoming an elder. Takamiyama ultimately became a Japanese citizen in June 1980 and did become the first foreign-born elder upon his retirement in 1984.
