Kirsten Auken
Kirsten Auken (25 June 1913 – 21 January 1968) was a Danish sexologist and politician, who was one of the leading proponents of the introduction of sex education in Denmark. She was the mother of politicians Margrete Auken and Svend Auken. Biography She was born in Copenhagen to Professor of Dermatology Svend Lomholt (1888-1949) and Marie Kirstine Siegumfeldt Beck (1888-1920) and married physician Gunnar Auken in 1940. They both participated in the Danish resistance movement and were politically active in Danish Unity, and subsequently in the Social Democrats. In 1953 Auken became Dr.Phil. on the "Undersøgelser over unge kvinders sexuelle adfærd" ("Studies on the sexual behaviour of young women"). She died in 1968 of cancer. Gunnar is a male first name of Nordic origin (''Gunnarr'' in Old Norse). The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. A member of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the Social Democrats have 50 out of 179 members of the Danish parliament (following the latest Danish general election held in 2022), Folketing, and three out of fourteen MEPs elected from Denmark. Founded by Louis Pio in 1871, the party first entered the Folketing in the 1884 Danish Folketing election. Danish Resistance Movement
The Danish resistance movements ( da, Den danske modstandsbevægelse) were an underground insurgency to resist the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. Due to the initially lenient arrangements, in which the Nazi occupation authority allowed the democratic government to stay in power, the resistance movement was slower to develop effective tactics on a wide scale than in some other countries. Members of the Danish resistance movement were involved in underground activities, ranging from producing illegal publications to spying and sabotage. Major groups included the communist BOPA ( da, Borgerlige Partisaner, Civil Partisans) and Holger Danske, both based in Copenhagen. Some small resistance groups such as the Samsing Group and the Churchill Club also contributed to the sabotage effort. Svend Lomholt (18 October 1888 - 17 July 1949) was a Danish veterinarian and dermatologist. He published a number of journals of his works, in 1924, he published a report at The University Institute for Theoretical Physics and Pathological Institute, Municipal Hospital, in Copenhagen about the metal composition in rodents and other creatures.
