Kiro Congo
The Kiro Congo (KCD) is a Catholic youth organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is one of the more important youth movements in the country. Kiro Congo is a member of the Catholic umbrella of youth organizations Fimcap. History Kiro was founded on 11 November 1947. The youth movement grew quickly in the 1950s. In 1957 already about 150 Kiro groups existed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 1960 Kiro had already about 240 boys' and girls' groups with approximately 17,000 individual members. Fimcap
The FIMCAP, which is short for Fédération Internationale des Mouvements Catholiques d’Action Paroissiale (French for "International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements"), is an umbrella organization for Catholic youth organizations. Its 31 member organizations are based in 28 countries. The FIMCAP was founded in 1962 and is recognised as an official Catholic organization by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life. FIMCAP is also a full member of the European Youth Forum. History Already in 1959, French, Belgian and Dutch youth organizations had been working on the project of an international pooling, adopting a joint proposal in Lucerne in October 1959 during the National Presidents' Conference of European Movements affiliated to the International Catholic Youth Federation (ICYF). Broederlijk Delen
Broederlijk Delen is a Flemish aid and development agency, which specializes in trying to improve the living conditions of rural communities in Africa and Latin America. At the international level Broederlijk Delen is a member of Coopération Internationale pour le Développement et la Solidarité (CIDSE), the umbrella organization for Catholic development agencies from Europe and North America . Since 2011 Broederlijk Delen has been led by Thérèse Coens. Methods In the global south Broederlijk Delen puts the local rural population's own plans at the center of its work. They support local initiatives or organizations rather than initiating their own projects. Broederlijk Delen cooperates with about 160 partner organisations, which receive financial support.
