Fimcap
The FIMCAP, which is short for Fédération Internationale des Mouvements Catholiques d’Action Paroissiale (French for "International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements"), is an umbrella organization for Catholic youth organizations. Its 31 member organizations are based in 28 countries. The FIMCAP was founded in 1962 and is recognised as an official Catholic organization by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life. FIMCAP is also a full member of the European Youth Forum. History Already in 1959, French, Belgian and Dutch youth organizations had been working on the project of an international pooling, adopting a joint proposal in Lucerne in October 1959 during the National Presidents' Conference of European Movements affiliated to the International Catholic Youth Federation (ICYF). The Fimcap EuroCamp is an international social activity organized by the International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements (Fimcap). The EuroCamp is organized once a year and is each time hosted by another European member organization of Fimcap. Chiro Flanders
Chiro Flanders ( nl, Chirojeugd Vlaanderen) or simply Chiro, is a Belgian youth organisation, founded on Christian values, active in Flanders, Brussels and Eupen-Malmedy. Frivilligt Drenge- Og Pige-Forbund
Frivilligt Drenge- og Pigeforbund, FDF ("Voluntary Boy and Girl Association") is a Danish, Christian children and youth organisation with approximately 25,000 members (2009). The activities in FDF are in many ways similar to those of the scouts. However, there are some differences, including the fact that in FDF children are always led by adults, and FDF is not a member of any of the scouting World associations. Instead, FDF is a member of Fimcap, European Fellowship and Global Fellowship. History FDF was established by Holger Tornøe, a young architect and sundayschool-teacher from Copenhagen, and Ludvig Valentiner, on October 27, 1902 in Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, and thus is Denmark's oldest uniformed children and youth association. FDF National Camp
The FDF National Camp (Danish: "FDF Landslejr"), formerly also called Julsølejr, is a nationwide youth camp organized by the Danish Christian youth organization FDF every five years at the FDF Outdoor Center Sletten near . With more than 10,000 participants, it is one of the biggest children and youth camps in Denmark. Activities The camps are designed to give children and young people the opportunity to increase experience in nature, with music and a new kind of celebrating divine services. History Since 1926, FDF has hosted a big national camp ("FDF National Camp", "Camp Julsoe") every five years. The national camp takes place in Sletten. The camp lasts 10 days and all members over the age of nine can take part. In 2011 there were 13,000 participants. Katholische Jungschar is the official organization for children of the Catholic church in Austria and South Tyrol and one of the lay movements of the Catholic action. Katholische Jungschar is the biggest children organization in Austria. More 100,000 children take regularly part in its activities. The local groups are run by about 15,000 group leaders. The 37th International Eucharistic Congress that was held from 31 July to 7 August 1960 in Munich, West Germany, was the 37th edition of the International Eucharistic Congress of the Roman Catholic Church. History The site of the 37th International Eucharistic Congress was chosen by Pope Pius XII, who had previously served in Munich as a papal nuncio. The European Youth Forum (from french: Youth Forum Jeunesse, YFJ) is an international non-profit association and serves as a platform and advocacy group of the national youth councils and international non-governmental youth organisations in Europe. World Youth Day
World Youth Day (WYD) is an event for young people organized by the Catholic Church that was initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1985, sometimes nicknamed in later years as the "Catholic Woodstock". Its concept has been influenced by the Light-Life Movement that has existed in Poland since the 1960s, where during summer camps Catholic young adults over 13 days of camp celebrated a "day of community". For the first celebration of WYD in 1986, bishops were invited to schedule an annual youth event to be held every Palm Sunday in their dioceses.
