Kirks Mills Historic District
The Kirks Mills Historic District is a national Historic district (United States), historic district that is located in Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. History and architectural features This district includes twelve contributing buildings that are located in the village of Kirks Mills. Those buildings are: Jacob Kirk's Mansion House (c. 1752), the Brick Mill/Kirk's Mill (c. 1810), the brick miller's house, a stone and log barn that was converted to a residence in 1975, Joseph Reynold's House (1825), Eastland Friend's Meeting and Tenant House (c. 1798, 1822), the Ephriam B. Lynch House (1880s), the Harry Reynolds House (c. 1774), the Manuel Reynolds House, the Eastland School House (1838), and the Log House. Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
Little Britain Township is a township in southeastern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,134 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Solanco School District. History On February 7, 1738, a petition was signed by many citizens of Drumore Township, Pennsylvania to create a new township, due to Drumore getting too big. They had a hard time thinking of a new name, though finally John Jamison, one of the oldest and most prominent citizens, proposed that it be called Little Britain Township in memory of most of the settlers' mother country. For over one hundred years, Little Britain Township's boundaries remained unchanged, until 1844 when Fulton Township was formed. Although Robert Fulton, credited with the development of the steamship, was born in Little Britain, his birthplace is within the border of present-day Fulton Township.
