Kirill Shevchenko
Kirill Shevchenko ( uk, Кірілл Шевченко; born 22 September 2002) is a Ukrainian (until 2022) and Romanian (since 2023) chess grandmaster. Chess career Born in 2002, Shevchenko earned his international master title in 2016 and his grandmaster title in 2017, at the age of 14 years 10 months. In February 2018, he competed in the Aeroflot Open and finished 51 out of 92, scoring 4½/9 (+2–2=5). In March 2018, he competed in the European Individual Chess Championship and placed 32nd, scoring 7½/11 (+6–2=3). In November 2021, Shevchenko won the Lindores Abbey Blitz tournament in Riga, Latvia. He finished clear first on 14/18, half a point ahead of Fabiano Caruana and Arjun Erigaisi. The European Team Championship (often abbreviated in texts and games databases as ''ETC'') is an international team chess event, eligible for the participation of European nations whose chess federations are located in zones 1.1 to 1.9. Arjun Erigaisi (born 3 September 2003) is an Indian chess grandmaster. He is the reigning Indian national chess champion. He earned the title of grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 11 months, 13 days, making him the 32nd youngest person ever to achieve the title of grandmaster. He is the 54th grandmaster from India. Career 2015–2018 In 2015, Arjun won a silver medal in the 2015 Asian Youth Championship in Korea. Grandmaster (chess)
Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally it has been revoked for cheating. The title of Grandmaster, along with the lesser FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and FIDE Master (FM), is open to all players regardless of gender. The great majority of grandmasters are men, but 40 women have been awarded the GM title as of 2022, out of a total of about 2000 grandmasters. Since about the year 2000, most of the top 10 women have held the GM title. There is also a Woman Grandmaster title with lower requirements awarded only to women. Fabiano Caruana
Fabiano Luigi Caruana (born July 30, 1992) is an American chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, Caruana became a grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 11 months, and 20 days—the youngest grandmaster in the history of both Italy and the United States at the time. Born in Miami to Italian parents, Caruana grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He played for the United States until 2005, when he transferred his national federation affiliation to Italy. He earned his grandmaster title in 2007, and in the same year won his first Italian Chess Championship, a feat he repeated in 2008, 2010, and 2011.
