''Kinderwood'' is an American animated television series that premiered on the Noggin mobile app on December 3, 2020. The series was created by Otto Tang and developed by Carin Greenberg. It is produced by Titmouse, Inc. It is set in a fictional school called Kinderwood, which is able to transform into different environments. The main characters are the "Kinderkids," a group of five classmates who attend Kinderwood. The series was first announced on December 1, 2020, and it was available early on Noggin's Amazon Video channel on the same day. On December 3, one episode of the series aired on Nickelodeon to promote its debut on Noggin. Commercials for the show's Noggin debut also played on Nickelodeon's networks. Noggin (brand)
Noggin is an American entertainment brand launched on February 2, 1999, as a joint venture between MTV Networks (owners of Nickelodeon) and Sesame Workshop. It started out as a cable television channel and interactive website, both centered around the concepts of imagination, creativity, and education. Since its launch, the brand has expanded to include a mobile streaming app and multiple defunct programming blocks worldwide. When launched as a TV channel, Noggin was mainly aimed at pre-teens and teenagers. Programming was divided into three distinct blocks: one for pre-teens and teens, an early morning block for preschoolers, and a nighttime block for reruns of "retro" programs. The channel heavily drew from Sesame Workshop's back catalogue. Carin Greenberg
Carin Greenberg (born September 17, 1959) is a writer, story editor and producer of children’s entertainment. She is a Peabody finalist and winner of three Daytime Emmys, two Annie Awards and a Writers Guild Award. She wrote a series of children's books under the name Carin Greenberg Baker. Life and career Greenberg was born on September 17, 1959 in New York City, to parents Elaine Kussack, an actress, and Lawrence J. Greenberg, a U.S. Air Force officer. As a child, Greenberg acted in television and film. In 1980, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and subsequently attended Georgetown University Law Center. She left law school to begin a writing career, starting out as a copywriter for advertisements and later becoming a ghostwriter of young adult books. Mitch Metcalf (born ) is an American television analyst and former scheduling executive for NBC. He studied politics and economics at Princeton University. He worked for Frank N. Magid Associates and Research Communications before joining ABC in 1990. The network promoted him to director of West Coast research in January 1995, and later senior vice president of research.
