Kimo (band)
Kimo (formerly known as Eskimo) are a New Zealand-based alternative musical group consisting of David Mulcahy (ex JPS Experience, Superette and solo electronic project Mulchzoid) and Rob Mayes (Failsafe Records, dolphin). They released the album ''loverbatim'' under the name Eskimo in 2004. In 2007 they changed their name from Eskimo to Kimo in to differentiate themselves from a number of other artists also using that former name. The band performed a series of concerts through 2004 and 2005 with the inclusion of Drummer Michael Daly (YFC) Kimo have release their second album ''Surrender'' in October 2008 on Failsafe Records. JPS Experience
The Jean-Paul Sartre Experience, later renamed JPS Experience after the estate of Jean-Paul Sartre threatened a lawsuit, were an indie rock band on New Zealand's Flying Nun Records. History The band was formed in 1984 by Dave Yetton (vocals, bass guitar), Gary Sullivan (drums), and Dave Mulcahy (guitar).Strong, Martin C. Their first crudely recorded demo tape was supplied to university radio stations around the country in a can. It contained early versions of the songs "Einstein" and "Crap Rap" that would appear on subsequent releases. In 1986 they were asked to record a track for the "Weird Culture, Weird Custom" compilation produced by the student radio network. Superette (band)
Superette were a New Zealand indie rock band, who were signed by Flying Nun Records. History The band was formed in 1993 in Auckland, New Zealand by members of the Jean-Paul Sartre Experience and Fang: Ben Howe, Dave Mulcahy, and Greta Anderson. The band's first release was the ''Rosepig'' EP, released in 1994. "Killer Clown" from the EP was released as a single in 1995. Failsafe Records
Failsafe Records is a record label that was founded in 1984 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It started a long line of releases, including a chain of compilations that featured many artists (notably JPSE, Double Happys, Nocturnal Projections and Loves Ugly Children) who later appeared on Flying Nun Records, major labels, or other larger indies. Dolphin (band)
A dolphin is an aquatic mammal within the infraorder Cetacea. Dolphin species belong to the families Delphinidae (the oceanic dolphins), Platanistidae (the Indian river dolphins), Iniidae (the New World river dolphins), Pontoporiidae (the brackish dolphins), and the extinct Lipotidae (baiji or Chinese river dolphin).
