Kim Roberts (filmmaker)
Kim Roberts, A.C.E., is an American filmmaker who has worked primarily on documentaries as a film editor and writer. Roberts has a master's degree in documentary film production from Stanford University (1996). Her first credit as an editor was for ''Long Night's Journey into Day'' (2000), which was directed by Deborah Hoffmann and Frances Reid and that was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. She was credited as both an editor and writer for ''Great Wall Across the Yangtze'' (2000), which was directed by Ellen Perry. Her work since then and several of her honors are sketched in the filmography below. Roberts was featured in a ''New York Times'' article on film editing in 2012. Kirby Dick
Kirby Bryan Dick (born August 23, 1952) is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor best known for directing documentary films. He received Academy Award nominations for Best Documentary Feature for directing ''Twist of Faith'' (2005) and ''The Invisible War'' (2012). He has also received numerous awards from film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival and Los Angeles Film Festival. Life and career Dick was born in Phoenix, Arizona. ''The Hunting Ground'' is a 2015 American documentary film about the incidence of sexual assault on college campuses in the United States and the reported failure of college administrations to deal with it adequately. Written and directed by Kirby Dick and produced by Amy Ziering, it premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. The film was released on February 27, 2015, an edited version aired on CNN on November 22, 2015, and was released on DVD the week of December 1, 2015. It was released on Netflix in March 2016. Lady Gaga recorded an original song, "Til It Happens to You," for the film, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The documentary focuses on Annie E. Jacob Kornbluth is the award-winning director of documentaries ''Inequality for All'', and '' Saving Capitalism'', and feature films '' Haiku Tunnel'', ''Love & Taxes'', and '' The Best Thief in the World''. ''Inequality for All'' is a 2013 documentary film directed by Jacob Kornbluth and narrated by American economist, author and professor Robert Reich. Based on Reich's 2010 book ''Aftershock: The Next Economy and America's Future'', the film examines widening income inequality in the United States. Reich publicly argued about the issue for decades, and producing a film of his viewpoints was a "final frontier" for him.
