Die Ärzte
Die Ärzte (; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. The band has released 14 studio albums. The group consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. History Early years Die Ärzte were formed in West Berlin in 1982 by Jan Vetter (alias Farin Urlaub, a pun on the expression "Fahr' in Urlaub", meaning "Go on vacation"), Dirk Felsenheimer (alias Bela B, referring to Dracula actor Bela Lugosi) and bassist Hans Runge, alias . Bela and Farin had previously played together in the punk band Soilent Grün, established in 1979 and named after the film ''Soylent Green''. After Soilent Grün broke up in 1982, Bela and Farin decided to form another band. In the first two years (including Sahnie) they mostly played in clubs in their hometown, Berlin. Their first release was a contribution to the sampler ''20 schäumende Stimmungshits'' (rough translation: "20 foamy party hits"), featuring a strong alcohol th ...

Hurra (song)
"Hurra" (in the booklet of the album, "Hurra!") is a song by the punk band Die Ärzte. It is the third track and the second single from their 1995 album ''Planet Punk''. In the fadeout, a sample from the movie Clerks can be heard („That's beautiful, man.“). The song lyrics state that the situation in Germany after reunification is much better than before, which is meant sarcastically. The video The video uses the single version of the song, which is slightly altered by some background voices and child's voice in the beginning and in the end. The video features the band performing the song in darkness; all band members are frowning, while the song sounds happy. This affirms that the song is meant sarcastically. Track listing # "Hurra" (Single-Version) (Urlaub) - 3:26 # "Sex Me, Baby" (Gonzalez/Gonzalez, Felsenheimer) - 2:52 # "Warrumska" (Urlaub) - 3:51 # "Ekelpack" (Live-Version) (Felsenheimer, Urlaub, Exploited) - 7:04 # "Eine Frage der Ehre" (Gonzalez) - 3:50 B-s ...

Wir Wollen Nur Deine Seele
''Wir wollen nur deine Seele'' ("We only want your soul") is the second live album by German rock band Die Ärzte, released on 22 November 1999. It is a compilation of songs from different concerts. Leftover songs were released on '' Satanische Pferde'', which was only available for fan club members. The album's title is taken from a German book which was released by a Christian publisher in 1984 about the (perceived) propagation of satanism and occultism by rock musicians. This book gained a kind of cult status as a piece of real-life satire among heavy metal fans. The subtitle of the first disc is a reference to Motörhead's successful live album ''No Sleep 'til Hammersmith'' and it also puns the heavy metal umlaut, for which Motörhead is a noted example. "Sprüche II" on the EP contains two parts played at the same time, which means that one has to unplug the right speaker, when one wants to hear part 1 (left) and the other way around. In December 1999, a sequel to the t ...

Elke (live)
"Elke" is a punk song by German band Die Ärzte. It's the seventh track from their 1988 album '' Das ist nicht die ganze Wahrheit...'' The song's lyrics were inspired by an overweight fan and depict a fictitious love story between Urlaub and the eponymous fan. The music is unique, as the first verse is sung slowly and then the song goes to the chorus very abruptly and then progresses with fast singing. This makes it a live favourite, as witnessed by the inclusion of 1988 live version to ''Das Beste von kurz nach früher bis jetze'' and the single of 1999. It's also the twenty-second track on CD2 from their 1999 live album '' Wir wollen nur deine Seele''. "Die Schönen und das Biest" (''The Beauties and the Beast'') is the title of the single that was released to promote the album. The single is not the one featured on the album, which is much longer. The single version is from a concert at Rock am Ring (18 May 1997). Music video "Die Schönen und das Biest" The video is an ...

The song is written by and dedicated to the drummer Bela B., who, according to the lyrics, is simple-minded and stupid. Music video In the video, the band members are riding bikes. Bela's head falls off and a trucker picks it up. He goes to a strip club with the head and a stripper takes the head for herself. Later they end up in the same bar, where the band is.
