Killay North ( cy, Cilâ - Gogledd) is a former electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales which consisted of some or all of the following areas: Killay, Olchfa and Waunarlwydd, in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea West. The village of Killay is located mainly in this ward, set high above sea level, about 3.5 miles west of Swansea city centre. Swansea (; cy, Abertawe ) is a coastal city and the second-largest city of Wales. It forms a principal area, officially known as the City and County of Swansea ( cy, links=no, Dinas a Sir Abertawe). Killay ( cy, Cilâ) is the name of a suburb and local government community in Swansea, Wales. Killay has its own community council. The village is set high above sea level, about west of Swansea city centre. It adjoins the town of Dunvant and the Tycoch area of Swansea. Gowerton lies to the north. The community had a population of 5,702 in 2011. The north of the area is mainly residential and is deemed a relatively affluent area of Swansea. The south of the area consists of an unpopulated common, which is used for grazing and forms part of Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is also another community called Upper Killay. Waunarlwydd ( en, The Lord's Meadow – ''arlwydd'' is a local variant of ''arglwydd'') is a village and community in Swansea, Wales, within the newly formed Waunarlwydd ward in 2021. Wendy Lewis Labour is the first elected councillor for the newly created ward which she comfortably won in the 2022 local elections. In 2022 Waunarlwydd became a community. Transport Buses are provided by First Cymru: these are the 15 or 16 Swansea - Waunarlwydd and Swansea - Gorseinon. The main road in and out of the village is the B4295. The nearest motorway junction is 47 Swansea West (Penllergaer) on the M4. Cockett (electoral Ward)
Cockett ( cy, Coced) is the name of an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK. The ward is coterminous with the Cockett community. It elects three councillors. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Cadle, Cwmdu, Coedweig, Gendros, Gors, Fforestfach and Cockett, in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea West. The ward is bounded by the wards of Kingsbridge and Penderry to the north; Cwmbwrla to the east; Townhill to the south east; Sketty and Killay North to the south; and Gowerton to the west. Following a local government boundary review, effective from the 2022 local elections, Waunarlwydd was removed from the Cockett ward to become its own ward (and community).
