Kilisitina Moata'ane
Kilisitina Moata'ane (born 23 November 1997) is a New Zealand rugby union player. She made her Black Ferns debut off the bench in a 47–10 victory over Australia in Perth on 10 August 2019. Personal life Moata’ane is of Tongan heritage and was born in Auckland. Her family later moved to Dunedin where she was educated at Kavanagh College. She took up rugby as a teenager in Year 12 and is now a teacher aide at Otago Girls’ High School. Career Moata’ane has previously represented Tonga at rugby league. She made her debut for Otago Spirit in 2014 at the age of 16. She has since scored 26 tries in 41 games for Otago. In 2017 she scored five tries against Tasman and in 2019 she helped Otago win the Farah Palmer Cup by scoring nine tries in six games. Otago Rugby Football Union
The Otago Rugby Football Union is the official governing body of rugby union for the Otago region of New Zealand. The union is based in the city of Dunedin, and its home ground is Forsyth Barr Stadium. The top representative team competes in the ITM Cup, New Zealand's top provincial competition. The union was to have been liquidated in March 2012. However a deal involving the Dunedin City Council allowed it to keep operating. Super Rugby Aupiki
Super Rugby Aupiki is a professional women's rugby union club competition in New Zealand. Its inaugural season was held in March 2022. It is a steppingstone between the Farah Palmer Cup and the Black Ferns. Aupiki translates as ‘''the ascent to the upper most realm''’. Format Initially the four teams were supposed to have three regular season matches with one home and away game, and one Super Round fixture. The top two teams at the end of the three rounds would contest the final. However, the competition was reformatted as a round robin fixture because of the impact of COVID-19. All the squads were strongly affected with player isolations and COVID-19 cases. The inaugural champion would be crowned based on their competition points after the final round. The North Harbour Rugby Union (NHRU), commonly known as North Harbour or simply Harbour, is the governing body of rugby union that encompasses a wide geographical area north of Auckland that includes North Shore City, Rodney District, the Hibiscus Coast and part of Waitakere City. Farah Palmer Cup
The Farah Palmer Cup (formerly known as Women's Provincial Championship until 2016), is the highest level domestic women's rugby union competition in New Zealand and is named after the former Black Ferns captain, Farah Palmer. This contest is held annually from late August to early November and managed by the New Zealand Rugby Union, or NZRU. The competition was first introduced in 1999, with a total of fourteen teams competing initially. The number of teams increased to eighteen in the year 2000, but has decreased to as few as six teams, with 13 currently featured. Canterbury are the current holders of the JJ Stewart Trophy, the women's equivalent of the Ranfurly Shield.
