Khetagurovite Campaign
Valentina Semyonovna Khetagurova (russian: Валентина Семёновна Хетагурова; 19141992), was a founder of the Khetagurova movement (Khetagurovite Campaign), a member of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union for the Russian Far East. Biography Valentina Zarubina was born in St. Petersburg in 1914. When she was seventeen, in 1932, she enlisted to work on the De-Kastri Fortified district in the Far Eastern Federal District where she worked as a draughtsman. There, she became the leader of the Komsomol cell and became involved in the fight against illiteracy and in organizing the weekly day off. Working with the women in the cell, she helped to improve the daily life including the soldier's food and arranging leisure activities. In 1936, for her work in Siberia she was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour. She was awarded a gold watch by Kliment Voroshilov, the People's Commissioner for Defense of the USSR. Georgy Khetagurov
Georgy Ivanovich Khetagurov (; – 3 September 1975) was an Ossetian army general of the Soviet Army and a Hero of the Soviet Union. Early life and Russian Civil War Khetagurov was born on 25 April 1903 in the village of Tsmi, Terek Oblast. He enlisted in the Red Army in January 1920 during the Russian Civil War. As a Red Army man of the 2nd Caucasian Rifle Regiment of the South Ossetian Brigade, he fought in fighting on the Eastern Front at Buguruslan and in the North Caucasus at Kislovodsk between August and November 1920. Interwar period After the end of the war, Khetagurov graduated from the 38th Pyatigorsk Infantry Courses at Kislovodsk in early 1922. Isaak Osipovich Dunayevsky (russian: Исаак Осипович Дунаевский ; also transliterated as Dunaevski or Dunaevskiy; 25 July 1955) was a Soviet film composer and conductor of the 1930s and 1940s, who composed music for operetta and film comedies, frequently working with the film director Grigori Aleksandrov. Biography Dunaevskiy was born to a Jewish family in Lokhvytsia in the Poltava Governorate of the Russian Empire (now Myrhorod Raion, Poltava Oblast, Ukraine) in 1900. Yevgeny Petrov, also named Evgeny or Yevgeni Petrov () was the pen name of Yevgeny Petrovich Katayev (; in Odessa – July 2, 1942) who was a popular Soviet author in the 1920s and 1930s. He often worked in collaboration with Ilya Ilf. As Ilf and Petrov, they wrote ''The Twelve Chairs'', released in 1928, and its sequel, ''The Little Golden Calf'', released in 1931. Novodevichy Cemetery ( rus, Новоде́вичье кла́дбище, Novodevichye kladbishche) is a cemetery in Moscow. It lies next to the southern wall of the 16th-century Novodevichy Convent, which is the city's third most popular tourist site. History The cemetery was designed by Ivan Mashkov and inaugurated in 1898.
