Khasan Yandiyev
Khasan Iragiyevich Yandiyev (russian: Хаса́н Ира́гиевич Янди́ев; 17 July 1948, Almaty, Kazakhstan – 13 April 2008, Karabulak) was a Russian judge who served as the deputy head of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia. He presided over the trials of a number of corrupt government officials and Islamic fundamentalists and rebels in Ingushetia, one of Russia's poorest and most troubled provinces. Yandiyev was born into an Ingush family in Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR (now Almaty, Kazakhstan). (Following the 1940–44 insurgency in Chechnya, the Soviet government forced hundreds of thousands of Chechens and Ingush to move to Central Asia.) In 1980, he graduated from Andijan State Pedagogical Institute in Uzbekistan, where he studied physical education. Almaty
Almaty (; kk, Алматы; ), formerly known as Alma-Ata ( kk, Алма-Ата), is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of about 2 million. The Ingush (, inh, ГIалгIай, translit=Ghalghaj, pronounced ) per Oxford dictionary "a member of a people living mainly in Ingushetia in the central Caucasus." Aza Gazgireeva
Aza Adlopovna Gazgireyeva (russian: Аза Адлоповна Газгиреева; 29 October 1954, Saran, Kazakhstan – 10 June 2009, Nazran), also known as Aza Gazgireeva, was an Ingush jurist who served as the deputy chief justice of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia. She was assassinated in Nazran on 10 June 2009. Gazgireyeva became deputy chief justice on the Ingush Supreme Court following the assassination of her predecessor on the court, Khasan Yandiyev, on 13 April 2008. On 10 June 2009, gunmen opened fire on Gazgireyeva's chauffeur-driven van in the Ingushetian city of Nazran shortly after she dropped her children off at kindergarten. At least one gunman reportedly walked up to Gazgireyeva and shot her in the head.
