Mahfuza Khanam
Mahfuza Khanam is a Bangladeshi academic and social activist. She is the current president of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh since January 2018. She was awarded Begum Rokeya Padak (2012) and Anannya Top Ten Awards (2013). Career While Khanam was a student of the University of Dhaka, she served as the vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU). In 2009, Khanam served as the General Secretary of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. Khanam served as the director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. She served as the chairperson of ''Khelaghar Ashor'', an organisation for children. Husna Banu Khanam
Husna Banu Khanam (18 February 1922 – 30 May 2006) was a Bangladeshi educationist, writer and Nazrul singer. She was a pioneer of Bengali Muslim women journalism. In 1999, she received the Ekushey Padak Award for her contribution in music, and in 2004, she received the Begum Rokeya Medal for her contribution to the socio-economic development of women by the Government of Bangladesh. Background Khanam was born in a Muslim family of British India (now Bangladesh) of Pabna District. Her father Abu Yusuf Mohammad Siddik Hossain Khan Lohani was a journalist and literary. Her Mother Fatema Lohani was a teacher. Two brothers, Fazle Lohani and Fateh Lohani were cultural figures. From childhood, she was interested in music and practiced regular music. Meherbanu Khanam
Meherbanu Khanam (1885 – 3 October 1925) was a Bengali artist and noblewoman. She was the daughter of Nawab Sir Khwaja Ahsanullah Bahadur and his wife Nawab Begum Kamrunnesa. Early life Khanam was born on 1885 in Ahsan Manzil, Dhaka, Bengal Presidency, British Raj to the Dhaka Nawab family. Her father was the Nawab of Dhaka Khwaja Ahsanullah and her brother was Nawab Khwaja Salimullah was the next Nawab of Dhaka. She was home schooled like most nobility in Bengal. In 1902 she was married to Khwaja Mohammad Azam. Career Khanam send her paintings to The Moslem Bharat, a monthly magazine, where it was seen by Kazi Nazrul Islam, the future national poet of Bangladesh. Kazi Nazrul Islam being inspired by the painting wrote a poem, Kheyaparer Tarani. The paintings was published by the magazine along with the poem in the July–August 1920 edition. Sayeeda Khanam
Sayeeda Khanam (29 December 1937 – 18 August 2020) was the first female professional photographer of Bangladesh. She covered many important events of Bangladesh Liberation War, Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 through her photography. Early life and education Khanam was born in Pabna District in the then Bengal Presidency (now Bangladesh). She is the youngest among her two brothers and four sisters. Her interest in photography began at a very early age when her sister bought her a Rolleicord camera. She never received any institutional training on photography, but learned from foreign photography magazines which were given to her by the owner of Jaidi's studio, a studio of Dhaka. Khanam completed her master's degree in Bengali literature and library science from the University of Dhaka.
