Keşlə
Keşlə (; Кешлә, کشله; also Keshly, Keshlya, Kəşlə, Keşlä, Kešlæ, Kishly, Kishlya, Kishty, Kişli and Kitly) is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 25,626. The Keshla area is becoming main business district of Baku, Azerbaijan. In the North, it is surrounded by several skyscrapers which are located at H. Aliyev Avenue. However in the South it is neighboring with Baku White City. History The name Keshla is first mentioned in sources in the 17th century. The former name was Keshlaqishlag. Oykonim reflects the name of the Keshli / Keshla tribe of Turkic origin. The document of the XVIII century provides information about the right of Keshli and Karamanli tribes to use Gazakhli, Alasli and Borchali pastures. Nizami Rayon ( az, Nizami Rayonu, Низами Рајону, نیظامی رایوننو) is a municipal district of the city of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Villa Petrolea
Villa Petrolea is a historical district located in the Keşlə, Keshla municipality of Baku, Azerbaijan. Built by the Branobel, Petroleum Production Company Nobel Brothers (also known as Branobel) in 1882, it served to accommodate workers of the company. It currently functions as a museum of the Nobel brothers in addition to housing a number of offices and businesses. History By the end of the nineteenth century, eastern parts of Baku (then the main oil extraction centre of the Russian Empire) constituted an industrial region unsuitable for civil residence due to heavy pollution. The only structures were oil refineries, port buildings and temporary housing for oil workers. The master plan of Baku White City ( az, Bakı Ağ Şəhər ) refers to the re-development of a portion of Black City, 221-hectare land area, conceptualized to be part of the 2021 strategic plan for Baku.
