Keytar
The keytar is a lightweight synthesizer that is supported by a strap around the neck and shoulders, similar to the way a guitar is supported by a strap. Keytars allow players a greater range of movement onstage, compared to conventional keyboards, which are placed on stationary stands or which are part of heavy, floor-mounted structures. The instrument has a musical keyboard for triggering musical notes and sounds. Various controls are placed on the instrument's "neck", including those for pitch bends, vibrato, portamento, and sustain. The term "keytar" is a portmanteau of the words "keyboard" and "guitar". This style of keyboard was mostly referred to by manufacturers as a " MIDI Controller", "Remote Keyboard", "Strap-on Keyboard", or variations thereof. Roland AX-Edge
The Roland AX-Edge is a keytar synthesizer, which was introduced and released by Roland Corporation in September 2018. Being an installment within Roland keytars#List of Roland keytars, Roland's keytar lineage, it is the successor to the Roland AX-Synth. Features The keytar synthesizer introduces customizable edge blades (a silver Edge Blade for the black model and a gold Edge Blade for the white model), which is a distinction from other keytars. The USB memory function and Bluetooth, along with MIDI are included. The keyboard has 49 full-sized keys with velocity and aftertouch, with 256 notes of polyphony. Vocoder, Mic Input, and 500 preset tones are present - which can be switched seamlessly without unnatural sound cut off. Roland AX-7
The Roland AX-7 is a keytar that was manufactured by Roland Corporation from 2001 to 2007. This modern instrument contains many more advanced features than early keytars such as its predecessor, the Roland AX-1, and the Yamaha SHS-10. It runs on 6 AA batteries or an external power source. It has a 45 velocity sensitive keys (without aftertouch), and a 3-character LED display. Several features aimed towards stage performance are present, such as a pitch bend ribbon, touchpad-like expression bar, sustain switch, and volume control knob, all on the upper neck of the instrument. MIDI Controller
A MIDI controller is any hardware or software that generates and transmits Musical Instrument Digital Interface ( MIDI) data to MIDI-enabled devices, typically to trigger sounds and control parameters of an electronic music performance. They most often use a musical keyboard to send data about the pitch of notes to play, although a MIDI controller may trigger lighting and other effects. A wind controller has a sensor that converts breath pressure to volume information and lip pressure to control pitch. Controllers for percussion and stringed instruments exist, as well as specialized and experimental devices. Some MIDI controllers are used in association with specific digital audio workstation software. The original MIDI specification has been extended to include a greater range of control features. The Monster Ball Tour was the second worldwide concert tour by American singer Lady Gaga. Bridgit Claire Mendler (born December 18, 1992) is an American singer and actress. Orphica
The orphica is a portable piano invented by Carl Leopold Röllig in the late 18th century. Like a guitar, the orphica could be held on a shoulder strap, thus being an early forerunner of the modern keytar. Only a few orphicas were made in Vienna from 1795 to 1810; about 30 orphicas are still in existence today. Summer Tour (Bridgit Mendler)
The Summer Tour is the second concert tour by the American singer Bridgit Mendler. In 2013 the tour visited North America to support her debut album '' Hello My Name Is...'', where it started in Burlington, Iowa and ended in Arlington, Texas. The setlist included all the songs from '' Hello My Name Is...'', except "The Fall Song" and "Love Will Tell Us Where to Go". She also covered two songs in her performances: " Starry Eyed", by British singer Ellie Goulding, and "Animal", by American band Neon Trees. In 2014 Mendler announced the second leg of the tour. The leg started in Charlottetown, Canada, on June 28, 2014. The Resistance Tour was a worldwide concert tour by English alternative rock band Muse in support of their fifth studio album '' The Resistance''. The opening European leg began on 22 October 2009 and ended on 4 December 2009, comprising 30 shows. ARP 2600
The ARP 2600 is a semi-modular analog subtractive audio synthesizer produced by ARP Instruments, Inc. History Developed by a design team headed by ARP namesake Allen R. Pearlman and engineer Dennis Colin, the ARP 2600 was introduced in 1971 as the successor to ARP's first instrument, the ARP 2500, at a retail price of US$2600. Unlike other modular systems of the time, which required modules to be purchased individually and wired by the user, the 2600 was semi-modular with a fixed selection of basic synthesizer components internally pre-wired, with clear text labels and front panel screen printed graphics indicating the function of different sections of controls, and the signal flow between them.
