Kew Gardens Station (London)
Kew Gardens is a listed building, Grade II–listed London Underground and London Overground station in Kew, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It first opened in 1869 and is now managed by London Underground. The station, which is in Travelcard London fare zones, Zones 3 and 4, is served by both the District line on the London Underground and the North London line on the London Overground, and is situated midway between and stations. The station is the nearest to Kew Gardens, about to the west, and The National Archives (United Kingdom), The National Archives, about to the north east. Kew Gardens Station Footbridge, also a Listed building, Grade II-listed structure, is next to the station, on the southern side. The Metropolitan District Railway, also known as the District Railway, was a passenger railway that served London from 1868 to 1933. Great Western Railway
The Great Western Railway (GWR) was a British railway company that linked London with the southwest, west and West Midlands of England and most of Wales. The North London Railway (NLR) company had lines connecting the northern suburbs of London with the East and West India Docks further east. The main east to west route is now part of London Overground's North London Line. North & South Western Junction Railway
The North and South Western Junction Railway (NSWJR) was a short railway in west London, England. It opened in 1853, connecting Willesden on the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) with Brentford on the London and South Western Railway (LSWR). After a difficult start it became an important freight route and that usage continues today. Shepherd's Bush
Shepherd's Bush is a district of West London, England, within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham west of Charing Cross, and identified as a major metropolitan centre in the London Plan.
