Kevin Willhite
Alfred Kevin Willhite (born May 4, 1963) is a former collegiate and professional American football player. Willhite attended Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, California, graduating in 1982. He was one of the greatest running backs in California prep history, rushing for 4,901 yards and scoring 72 touchdowns. He was selected into the Sac-Joaquin section Hall of Fame. He was also a great prep sprinter. As a junior in 1981, he won the 200 meters at the California State track meet with a legal wind-aided time of 20.8. As a senior in 1982, he ran 100 meters in 10.5 and had a hand-timed 10.4. In 1981, he was named the California prep athlete of the year (for football and track) and was separately named the California prep football player of the year. After his senior football year, he also earned three national honors. He received the Dial Award as the outstanding scholar-athlete of the year. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. Gerald Willhite
Gerald William Willhite (born May 30, 1959) is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round (21st overall) of the 1982 NFL Draft. Willhite was born in Sacramento, California and graduated from Cordova High School (California), Cordova High School of Rancho Cordova, California in 1977. Though Gerald's younger brother Kevin Willhite would become one of the top high school football stars in the state, he did not play football in high school, mainly due to his small size of 5'2 and 98 pounds. However, Gerald was a star at track and field and wrestling, finishing one wrestling season with an undefeated 24-0 record. After high school, Willhite attended American River College, deciding to forgo wrestling and focus entirely on track and field. Jacque Robinson
Jacque Robinson (born March 5, 1963) is an American former professional American football, football player. He played as a running back and was selected by the 1985 Buffalo Bills season, Buffalo Bills in the 1985 NFL Draft. During his college career at Washington Huskies football, Washington, Robinson amassed 2,300 career yards, and also earned MVP honors in both the 1982 Rose Bowl and 1985 Orange Bowl. He was the first freshman to win Player of the Game honors at the Rose Bowl and was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 2019.
