Kevin Hal Reynolds (born January 17, 1952) is an American film director and screenwriter. He directed '' Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'', ''Waterworld'', '' The Count of Monte Cristo'', the cult classic ''Fandango'', and the 2016 film '' Risen''. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for the History miniseries '' Hatfields & McCoys''. Early life Reynolds was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of former Baylor University President Herbert H. Reynolds. Career Reynolds enjoyed initial successes co-writing the Cold War hit ''Red Dawn'' in 1984 and writing and directing the Steven Spielberg-produced ''Fandango'' in 1985. He began a long friendship with Kevin Costner after hiring him for ''Fandango'', when Costner was a little-known actor. Kevin Reynolds (born July 23, 1990) is a retired Canadian figure skater. He is the 2013 Four Continents champion, 2010 Four Continents bronze medallist, 2014 Winter Olympics team silver medallist and a six-time Canadian national medallist (2012–14, 2017 silver; 2010, 2016 bronze). His highest place at a World Championship is fifth, achieved at 2013 World Championships. On the junior level, he is the 2006 JGP Final bronze medallist. Reynolds is the first skater to have landed two quadruple jumps in a short program. He is the first to have landed five quadruple jumps in one competition — at the 2013 Four Continents, he landed two quads in the short program and three in the free skate. Kevin Reynolds was the Western Australian state secretary for the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU). Prior to this he was involved with the Builders Labourers Federation in the 1970s and 1980s where he formed an association with Norm Gallagher. Kev Reynolds (7 December 1943 – 10 December 2021) was an English outdoor writer, known for his guidebooks for climbing and walking in the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Himalayas and southern England. Personal life Reynolds was born on 7 December 1943 at Ingatestone in Essex. He worked in local government until 1967, when he married Min and they moved to St. Moritz, where they worked in a hostel. They returned to England and became wardens of Crockham Hill YHA youth hostel. They later lived in Edenbridge in Kent. His first trip abroad was to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco in 1965, travelling by truck with a group of friends. He visited the Pyrenees and the Alps while writing guidebooks to those areas in the 1970s and 1980s, and in 1989 made the first of almost 20 trips to Nepal and the adjacent areas of India.
