Kevin Meredith
Kevin Meredith (born 1978), also known as Lomokev, is a British photographer and writer, living in Brighton. He is known for his use of the Lomo LC-A camera and his lomographic style. Meredith has produced three books on photography: ''Hot Shots'' (2008), ''52 Photographic Projects'' (2010, titled ''Photo Op'' in the USA) and ''Toy Cameras, Creative Photos'' (2011, titled ''Fantastic Plastic Cameras'' in the USA). Folkestone
Folkestone ( ) is a port town on the English Channel, in Kent, south-east England. The town lies on the southern edge of the North Downs at a valley between two cliffs. It was an important harbour and shipping port for most of the 19th and 20th centuries. There has been a settlement in this location since the Mesolithic era. A nunnery was founded by Eanswith, granddaughter of Æthelberht of Kent in the 7th century, who is still commemorated as part of the town's culture. During the 13th century it subsequently developed into a seaport and the harbour developed during the early 19th century to provide defence against a French invasion. The Old Market, Hove
The Old Market, Hove is a historic (grade II listed) building on the border of Brighton and Hove in England. It has served various functions, currently operating as a cultural performance centre under the name "TOMThe Old Market". History The Old Market opened in 1828 as a covered marketplace for sales of meat, fish and vegetables. It supplied the residential development of Brunswick, which was originally independent from Brighton and Hove village. As Brighton and Hove have grown up around it, the building has catered for changing needs, operating as a riding academy and stables, warehouse and, since the 1980s, as an arts venue. Established as Old Market Arts Centre (OMAC), the initial arts venture entered difficulties. British Airways I360
Brighton i360 is a moving observation tower on the seafront of Brighton, East Sussex, England at the landward end of the remains of the West Pier. The tower opened on 4 August 2016. From the fully enclosed viewing pod, visitors experience 360-degree views across Brighton, the South Downs and the English Channel. Brighton i360 was designed, engineered, manufactured and promoted by the team responsible for the London Eye. The attraction cost £46 million, with £36 million being funded by a Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) loan through Brighton and Hove city council. Formerly known as the "British Airways i360", the project aimed to attract 739,000 paying customers every year. Joachim Schmid
Joachim Schmid is a Berlin-based artist who has worked with found photography since the early 1980s. Life and career Schmid studied Visual Communication at Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd and Berlin University of the Arts from 1976 to 1981. He began his career as a freelance critic and the publisher of ''Fotokritik'', an iconoclastic and original contribution to West German photography. In the pages of ''Fotokritik'' and in his regular articles and lectures for other outlets, Schmid argued articulately and at times vehemently against prevailing, predominantly conservative notions of 'art photography' and in favour of a broad, encompassing critique of photography as a form of cultural practice. Jack Latham
Jack Latham (born 1989) is a British documentary photographer. His books include ''A Pink Flamingo'' (2015), made along the route of the Oregon Trail in the USA at a time of national financial hardship; and ''Sugar Paper Theories'' (2016) about the Guðmundur and Geirfinnur case in Iceland—a case of memory distrust syndrome in which six people confessed to murders they did not commit. In 2015 Latham was awarded the Bar-Tur Photobook Award, funding the production of ''Sugar Paper Theories,'' a solo exhibition of which was held at Reykjavík Museum of Photography in Iceland.
