Kevin Hertel
Kevin Hertel (born May 1985) is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 18th district. Elected in 2016, he assumed office in January 2017. Education Hertel attended Michigan State University, where he studied political science. Along with students from each of Michigan's 15 public universities, Hertel managed an effort to advocate for an increase in higher education funding. He continued to stay active in political campaigns and learned firsthand how government should work as an intern for former state Senator Deb Cherry. Career Before serving in the House, Hertel worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a legislative analyst and then as a special assistant in the office of the president. He is also involved in several community organizations. Sarah Roberts (Michigan Politician)
Sarah Roberts (born December 9, 1974) is an American politician from the state of Michigan. Since 2009, she has served in the Michigan State House of Representatives. A Democrat, Roberts represents the 24th State House District, which is located in eastern Macomb County and includes the city of St. Clair Shores and Harrison Township, as well as the small portion of Grosse Pointe Shores that is located within Macomb County. Michigan Democratic Party
The Michigan Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan. It is based in Lansing. Lavora Barnes is the party's current chair. She was previously the party's Chief Operating Officer. Curtis Hertel
Curtis Hertel (March 7, 1953 – March 27, 2016) was an American politician. He was the co-speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1993-1994, during the time when the house was split evenly between Republicans and Democrats. He was a Democrat. He shared the speakership with Republican Paul Hillegonds. Hertel held a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. Hertel was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 1980. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Deb Cherry (born August 19, 1954) is a former Democratic member of the Michigan Senate, representing the 26th district until she was elected Genesee County treasurer in 2010.
