Kevin Dogins
Kevin Ray Dogins (born December 7, 1972) is a former professional American football guard in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. He also was a member of the Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Early years Dogins attended Rice High School in Eagle Lake, Texas, where he received All-district, All-conference, All-Greater Houston and All-American honors as a senior. He accepted a football scholarship from Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville, where his position coach was future NFL coach Juan Castillo. He became a starter at center as a freshman. In his last 2 years, he was part of an offensive line that included Jermane Mayberry and Jorge Diaz. He earned All-American and All-conference honors as a senior. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Arena Football League
The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States. 1998 NFL Season
The 1998 NFL season was the 79th regular season of the National Football League. The season culminated with Super Bowl XXXIII, with the Denver Broncos defeating the Atlanta Falcons 34–19 at Pro Player Stadium in Miami. 1996 NFL Draft
The 1996 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 20–21, 1996, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. On draft day, the St. Louis Rams traded running back Jerome Bettis and a third-round draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second round pick for that year, as well as a fourth round pick the following year. Jorge Diaz (born November 15, 1973 in New York, New York) is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. Jermane Mayberry
Jermane Timothy Mayberry (born August 29, 1973) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. During the beginning of his career, Mayberry played several positions along the offensive line before settling in at right guard for the majority of his tenure. His solid play was recognized with a bid to the Pro Bowl after the 2002 season. After the 2004 season, Mayberry signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he retired before the 2006 season. Juan Castillo (American Football)
Juan Castillo (born October 8, 1959) is an American football coach who is the tight ends coach for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas A&I as a linebacker and played for the San Antonio Gunslingers of the United States Football League in the mid–1980s. Castillo then coached high school and college football before joining the Eagles in 1995 as an offensive assistant. He has served as both a coach for tight ends and the offensive line.
