Jorge Diaz (American Football)
Jorge Diaz (born November 15, 1973 in New York, New York) is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Tampa Bay Storm and the Austin Wranglers in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Early years Diaz was born in New York and raised in Katy, Texas. He attended Katy High School, where he received All-district and All-conference honors at offensive tackle as a senior. After graduation he moved on to Kilgore Junior College, where he was a two-time All-conference and junior college All-American at offensive tackle. After his sophomore season he transferred to Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville, where his position coach was future NFL coach Juan Castillo. Mike Alstott
Michael Joseph Alstott (born December 21, 1973), is a former American football fullback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nicknamed "A-Train", he played college football at Purdue and was selected by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Alstott received six Pro Bowl and three first-team All-Pro honors during his career, in addition to being part of the Buccaneers team that won the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXVII. 1997 NFL Season
The 1997 NFL season was the 78th regular season of the National Football League. The Oilers relocated from Houston, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. The newly renamed Tennessee Oilers played their home games during this season at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee while construction of a new stadium in Nashville started. Houston would rejoin the NFL with the expansion Texans in 2002. Due to Game 7 of the 1997 World Series, the Chicago Bears–Miami Dolphins game at Pro Player Stadium was delayed one day to Monday, October 27. The season ended with Super Bowl XXXII when the Denver Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers 31–24 at Qualcomm Stadium. Jim Pyne
James M. Pyne (born 23 November 1971) is an American businessman and former professional football player who is the co-founder of Wheels Up. He has also served as the chief partnership officer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a former American college and professional football player, Pyne played as an offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He also played college football for Virginia Tech, and earned All-American honors. Drafted by the Buccaneers, Pyne became a reliable starter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. 1996 NFL Draft
The 1996 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 20–21, 1996, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. On draft day, the St. Louis Rams traded running back Jerome Bettis and a third-round draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second round pick for that year, as well as a fourth round pick the following year. The trade was made immediately after the Rams drafted Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips. Jermane Timothy Mayberry (born August 29, 1973) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. During the beginning of his career, Mayberry played several positions along the offensive line before settling in at right guard for the majority of his tenure.
