Video Game Artist
Game art design is a subset of game development involving the process of creating the artistic aspects for video games. Video game art design begins in the pre-production phase of creating a video game. Video game artists are visual artists involved from the conception of the game who make rough sketches of the characters, setting, objects, etc. Bates 2004, p. 171 Bethke 2003, p. 45-49 These starting concept designs can also be created by the game designers before the game is moved into actualization. Sometimes, these concept designs are called "programmer art". After the rough sketches are completed and the game is ready to be moved forward, those artists or more artists are brought in to develop graphic designs based on the sketches. The art design of a game can involve anywhere from two people and up. Small gaming companies tend to not have as many artists on the team, meaning that their artist must be skilled in several types of art development, whereas the larger the compan ...

The third installment of the ''Quake'' series, ''Arena'' differs from previous games by excluding a story-based single-player mode and focusing primarily on multiplayer gameplay. The single-player mode is played against computer-controlled bots. It features music composed by Sonic Mayhem and Front Line Assembly founder Bill Leeb. Notable features of ''Quake III Arena'' include the minimalist design, lacking rarely used items and features; the extensive customizability of player settings such as field of view, texture detail and enemy model; and advanced movement features such as strafe-jumping and rocket-jumping. The game was praised by reviewers who, for the most part, described the gameplay as fun and engaging. Many liked the crisp graphics and focus on multiplayer. ''Quake III Arena'' has also been used extensively in professional electronic sports tournaments such as QuakeCon, Cyb ...

Doom (2016 Video Game)
''Doom'' is a 2016 first-person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the first major installment in the Doom (franchise), ''Doom'' series since 2004's ''Doom 3''. Players take the role of an unnamed space marine, known as the "Doom Slayer", as he battles demonic forces from Hell that have been unleashed by the Union Aerospace Corporation within their energy-mining facility on Mars. The gameplay returns to a faster pace with more open-ended levels, closer to the first two games than the slower survival horror approach of ''Doom 3''. It also features environment traversal, character upgrades, and the ability to perform executions known as "glory kills". Raven Software
Raven Software Corporation is an American video game developer based in Wisconsin and founded in 1990. In 2005 and 2009, Raven developed two games from id's catalog: ''Quake 4'' and '' Wolf ...
