Keshava (Sanskrit: ') is an epithet of Vishnu in Hindu tradition. Keshava means Parabrahman, according to Hindu scriptures. The name appears as the 23rd and 648th names in the Vishnu Sahasranama of the Mahabharata. Keshava is also venerated by those persons wanting to avert bad luck or ill-omens. His consort is Keerti (Lakshmi). Etymology Keshava means "the one with beautiful long (unshorn) hair" or "killer of the Keshi demon". Keshav Sathe (31 January 1928 – 18 January 2012) was an Indian tabla player, best known for his contributions to the Indo-jazz fusion genre. Among his significant collaborations are the ones with Joe Harriott and John Mayer in 1965–70; Irene Schweizer trio, Barney Wilen and Manfred Schoof in 1967; and later work with John Renbourn, Danny Thompson and Julie Felix. Life Keshav Sathe was born in Bombay, where he began his professional career in 1951, working with a local Indian vocalist by the name of Kelkar. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1956 and joined the Asian Music Circle, a pool of London-based Indian musicians run by former political activist Ayana Deva Angadi. Keshav Jagannath Purohit
Keshav Jagannath Purohit (केशव जगन्नाथ पुरोहित) (b. 1923- 17 October 2018) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He wrote using the pen name Shantaram (शांताराम). Purohit was born in 1923 in the town of Chamorshi, which used to be in Chandrapur District and is now in Gadchiroli District. After attending Jubilee High School in the town of Chandrapur, he received college degrees, including a doctorate, in English literature from Nagpur University. Purohit taught English literature for 40 years in different colleges in Nagpur, Amravati, and Mumbai, and served for some years as the principal of Ismail Yusuf College in Mumbai before retiring. In 1989, he presided over Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, which was held in Amravati. He died at his residence in the Sahitya Sahawas Society in Vandre on 17 October 2018. Keshav Tanaji Meshram (24 November 1937 – 3 December 2007) was a Marathi poet, critic, novelist, and short-story writer from Maharashtra, India. He wrote about 40 books. Early life Meshram was born in a poor ''dalit'' family in Akola on 24 November 1937. He spent his teens and early adulthood working as a railway wagon loader, a construction worker, and an oil mill worker. While struggling to make a living, he continued his education.
