Kermia
''Kermia'' is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Raphitomidae. This genus is closely related to ''Pseudodaphnella'' Boettger, 1895. They form together a genus-complex with a highly underestimated diversity, leading to intermixed clades. The lack of morphologic criteria requires the generic assignment of several species clearly to be reconsidered. Description The elongate, fusiform shell has a narrow aperture that is nearly half the length of the shell. The protoconch consists of two whorls. But only in a few species the sculpture of the protoconch is coarsely diagonally reticulate. The shell structure is reticulate with glossy nodules on the intersections of the ribs and lirae. The siphonal canal is short and wide. The U-shaped or linguiform anal sinus is deep, located near the suture and is surrounded by a thick outer lip. The outer lip is denticulate within. The columella is smooth. Distribution This marine genus is widely distributed in the ...

Pseudodaphnella
''Pseudodaphnella'' is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Raphitomidae. In the past this generic name, ''Pseudodaphnella'', has been refused recognition by most modern writers, who have distributed its constituents among Mangilia, Clathurella, or Daphnella. Hedley, C. 1922. A revision of the Australian Turridae. Records of the Australian Museum 13(6): 213-359, pls 42-56
This genus has a morphological close relationship to '' Kermia.'' Together they form a homogeneous complex. Both are also close to the conoidean genera '' Exomilus'' Hedley ...

Kermia Alveolata
''Kermia alveolata'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Raphitomidae. Description The length of the shell attains 5.2 mm, its diameter 2.3 mm. The solid, elongate shell has a uniform dull color and consists of 7 convex whorls, separated by an impressed suture. The two whorls of the protoconch are smooth. The subsequent whorls show axial ribs (10 on the body whorl) and spirally decurrent cords (3 on the penultimate, 6 on the body whorl), forming a remarkable network with quadrangular meshes. The decurrent cords are higher than the axial ribs, forming nodules on the intersections. The body whorl is contracted below but then swells out around the base of the columella. The aperture is oblong and almost quadrangular. The siphonal canal is short and open. The columella is straight and shows a narrow callus. The thick outer lip is denticulate and shows on top a little cutout. Distribution This marine species occurs West Africa, off French ...

Kermia Caletria
''Kermia caletria'' is a species of sea snail, marine gastropod mollusk in the family Raphitomidae. Measuring a length of 4.5 mm, with a 1.5 mm diameter, the species is white and slightly ochraceous at the sutures. It contains seven whorls, turreted, two smooth whorls being apical, finely and regularly clathrate. The aperture is sinuously-oblong. The crenulate outer lip is simple within. The columellar margin is minutely toothed towards the base. The sinus is wide. The siphonal canal is a little produced. There is a very pale ochraceous band round the middle of the body whorl, as at the sutures. The sinus is deeply cut behind. At the sutural margin of the outer lip is a bright ochraceous thickened callus.

Kermia Benhami
''Kermia benhami'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Raphitomidae. Description The length of the shell attains 4 mm, its diameter 1.5 mm. (Original description) The shell is fusiform. The body whorl measures more than half the length of the shell. The shell contains 6½ whorls. These are flatly rounded and with a deep suture. The aperture is narrow, slightly oblique, and sinuous. The outer lip is thick, slightly expanded and denticulate within. The sinus is deep and broad, near the suture, but surrounded by a thick lip. The inner lip is thin and narrow. The columella is smooth. Sculpture : The 1st whorl of the protoconch is smooth, the 2nd crossed by threads which, beginning at the upper suture, pass first longitudinally and singly, then at the periphery bifurcate, each branch passing obliquely to the suture, thus reticulating the lower half. The adult whorls are entirely reticulated by axial ribs, about 8 on the first whorl and 20 ...

The small delicate, white shell has an ovate-fusiform shape. It contains 8 whorls of which 2½ in the protoconch, with a pale straw color, globose and microscopically cancellate ribs. The subsequent whorls contains thick, rounded ribs, crossed everywhere by rough, spiral lirae; nine ribs and nine lirae in the body whorl. The aperture is narrow. The outer lip is slightly incrassate. The columella is oblique. The siphonal canal is recurved.

It was assigned to ''Kermia'' by Kay, 1979 Description The length of the shell varies between 5.32 mm and 8.04 mm. (Original description) The fusiform, shining shell is longitudinally coarsely ribbed (14 on the body whorl) and crossed by coarse raised striae. The protoconch consists of three brown conical whorls. The five whorls of the teleoconch are rounded at the sutures. The outer lip is thick, incurved, serrated on the edges at the termination of the transverse striae. The ovate aperture has no denticles. The siphonal canal is short and slightly recurved. The colour of the shell is white. There are two light brown bands on each whorl.
