Kentucky Route 1402
Kentucky Route 1402 is a state highway that runs through a portion of eastern Warren County in south-central Kentucky. The road is known locally as Porter Pike. Route description The route begins in Bowling Green at a junction with multiple cojoined routes, known locally as Louisville Road. KY 1402 then proceeds east through an area dotted by small businesses and new residential development for before crossing under I-65 by way of an underpass. Past this point, KY 1402 runs through an area lined largely by large rural estates and ranches. It continues east for another before coming to a junction with KY 1297 in the Gott community. The route then continues to the east for another before reaching its eastern terminus at a junction with KY 101 near the Allen County line. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is Kentucky's state-funded agency charged with building and maintaining federal highways and Kentucky state highways, as well as regulating other transportation related issues. The Transportation Cabinet is led by the Kentucky Secretary of Transportation, who is appointed by the governor of Kentucky. The current Secretary is Jim Gray, who was appointed by Democratic Governor Andy Beshear. As of October 2012, KYTC maintains of roadways in the state. Bowling Green is a home rule-class city and the county seat of Warren County, Kentucky, United States. Founded by pioneers in 1798, Bowling Green was the provisional capital of Confederate Kentucky during the American Civil War. Warren County is a county located in the south central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 134,554, making it the fifth-most populous county in Kentucky. The county seat is Bowling Green. Warren County is now classified as a wet county after voters approved the measure in 2018. Kentucky Route 1297 (KY 1297) is a east–west state highway that traverses two counties in south-central Kentucky. Route description KY 1297 is one out of two old, original routes from Bowling Green directly to Glasgow, the other being the current U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80 alignment east of Bowling Green. KY 1297 starts at an intersection with KY 1402 east of Bowling Green. The road in its entire route from KY 1402 to the Barren County line is known as Gott–Hydro Road. Kentucky Route 101
Kentucky Route 101 (KY 101) is a north–south highway traversing three counties in south central Kentucky. Route description KY 101 extends through three geophysical subregions of the Interior Low Plateaus, which stretch from Tennessee to north of the Ohio River. These three regions roughly correspond with the three counties the highway traverses. KY 101 in Allen County passes through the Eastern Highland Rim, a northward extension of Middle Tennessee's Highland Rim that features undulating plains, hills, and karst. In Warren County, the highway crosses the Western Pennyroyal Karst Plain, a valley that features innumberable ponds and sinkholes. Allen County, Kentucky
Allen County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,588. Its county seat is Scottsville. The county is named for Colonel John Allen, a state senator and soldier who was killed leading the 1st Regiment of Kentucky Rifleman at the Battle of Frenchtown, Michigan during the War of 1812. Allen County practices the prohibition of alcohol and is a completely dry county. It was formed in 1815 from parts of Barren and Warren counties. State highways in Kentucky are maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which classifies routes as either primary or secondary. Some routes, such as Kentucky Route 80, are both primary and secondary, with only a segment of the route listed as part of the primary system. Despite the name, there is no difference in signage between primary and secondary routes. All of the Interstates and parkways are also primary, but only parts of the U.S. Highways in Kentucky are (though every mainline U.S. Highway is at least partially primary).
