Kentucky Route 1297 (KY 1297) is a east–west state highway that traverses two counties in south-central Kentucky. Route description KY 1297 is one out of two old, original routes from Bowling Green directly to Glasgow, the other being the current U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80 alignment east of Bowling Green. KY 1297 starts at an intersection with KY 1402 east of Bowling Green. The road in its entire route from KY 1402 to the Barren County line is known as Gott–Hydro Road. KY 1297's first major intersection is a crossroad intersection with KY 101 between Smiths Grove and Meador. This is in the unincorporated community of Kepler. Bowling Green is a home rule-class city and the county seat of Warren County, Kentucky, United States. State highways in Kentucky are maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which classifies routes as either primary or secondary. Some routes, such as Kentucky Route 80, are both primary and secondary, with only a segment of the route listed as part of the primary system. Barren River Lake State Resort Park
Barren River Lake State Resort Park is a park located in Barren County, Kentucky and extending into parts of Allen County and Monroe County. Barren River Lake, its major feature, is an artificial lake created with the building of a dam by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers begun in 1960. It covers approximately and has of shoreline. WBKO (channel 13) is a television station in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States, affiliated with ABC, Fox, and The CW Plus. It is owned by Gray Television alongside Telemundo affiliate WBGS-LD (channel 34). The two stations maintain studios on Russellville Road (US 68/KY 80) near its junction with Interstate 165 on the west side of Bowling Green. The transmitter facility is located along Kentucky Route 185 (Richardsville Road) in unincorporated northern Warren County. Kentucky Route 255 (KY 255) is a south-north state highway located in south central Kentucky. It provides access to Interstate 65 and Mammoth Cave National park to residents of southern Barren County. Route description Rocky Hill to Park City KY 255 begins at a junction with KY 252 in Barren County, near the Rocky Hill community. The route is narrow and considerably curvy until coming to a junction with KY 1297 about later. After this junction, the route straightens somewhat, proceeding north for another before coming to an intersection with the cojoined US 68/KY 80 in the Bon Ayr community.
