Kenneth Gilbert (actor)
Kenneth Gilbert (24 June 1931 – 29 October 2015) was an English actor who appeared in many television and stage productions over a 50-year period. He often played authority figures such as doctors, colonels, detectives and police surgeons, but became best known as businessman Oliver Banks in the soap opera '' Crossroads''. Early life Gilbert served in the Royal Air Force's Naval Rescue Service and trained as an actor at the Corona Academy in Chiswick. Career Gilbert trained as a classical actor at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. He was subsequently a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared at The Old Vic. The Seeds Of Doom
''The Seeds of Doom'' is the sixth and final serial of the 13th season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in six weekly parts on BBC1 from 31 January to 6 March 1976. In the serial, the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) agrees to go on one final mission in his role as UNIT's scientific advisor to investigate a mysterious pod found in the Antarctic. Tomorrow At Ten
''Tomorrow at Ten'' is a 1962 British thriller film directed by Lance Comfort and starring John Gregson, Robert Shaw and Kenneth Cope. Plot A man calling himself Marlow kidnaps Jonathan Chester, the young son of wealthy industrialist Anthony Chester, and locks him in a rented house with a golliwog containing a time bomb. He then goes to see the boy's father and announces that he will only reveal his whereabouts once he has been paid £50,000 (a large sum at the time) and is safely in Brazil. The boy's nanny alerts the police and Inspector Parnell arrives to discourage Chester from paying up lest it encourages giving in to blackmailers' demands. Marlow then reveals that the time bomb will go off at 10 a.m. the next day, killing Jonathan. This is too much for Chester who attacks Marlow, causing the crook serious injuries from which he later dies, leaving the police with little time or indication as to where to find Jonathan. The Lady And The Highwayman
''The Lady and the Highwayman'' is a 1989 United Kingdom romantic adventure television film based on Barbara Cartland's 1952 romance novel ''Cupid Rides Pillion''. The working title of the film was ''Dangerous Love''. The film stars Hugh Grant (in one of his earliest appearances) as highwayman Silver Blade and Lysette Anthony as Lady Panthea Vyne. The film is a swashbuckling tale of romance, jealousy and betrayal set in England during the Restoration of Charles II, with Michael York as King Charles II of England. Emma Samms as Lady Castlemaine and Oliver Reed are supported by guest appearances by Robert Morley and John Mills.
