Kenmount Road
Kenmount Road is a major road in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It begins at the intersection of Freshwater Road and Newfoundland and Labrador Route 50, Thorburn Road, just east of the Columbus Drive overpass. Originally passing through rural farmland, Kenmount Road is now a significant commercial area, with the Avalon Mall at its eastern end, followed by a series of car dealerships, restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. At its western end, Kenmount Road intersects Newfoundland and Labrador Route 60, Topsail Road and the Newfoundland and Labrador Route 1, Trans-Canada Highway, and has been extended into the Town of Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, Paradise, where it runs into another road, McNamara Drive. Route 50, also known as Thorburn Road and St. Thomas Line, is a east-west highway on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It extends from the city of St. John's west to Paradise. Route description Route 50 begins in the town of Paradise at an intersection with Route 60 (Topsail Road). Avalon Mall
The Avalon Mall is a Canadian shopping mall located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador on Kenmount Road. With over , two floors, and 142 stores, it is the largest shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador. The mall opened in 1967 and is owned by Crombie REIT. History The Avalon Mall underwent major extensions in 1977, 1987 and 1999. In the late-1980s and early-1990s, low retail performance promoted mall management to embark on major renovation programs. The Scotiabank branch was renovated. Department store Ayre and Sons became The Gap in 1991, but then renovated in early 2018 once more to become Charm Diamond Centres, Claire's, The Source, and Jump Plus. Paradise is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Paradise is the third largest settlement in the province and is part of the St. John's metropolitan area, the 20th largest metropolitan area in Canada.
