Kelly Mittelstadt
Kelly Mittelstadt (born June 1, 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. He currently plays lead for the Chad Stevens rink. Career Mittelstadt grew up in Alberta where he played juniors. He played third for Colin Davison's rink that won the 1994 Canadian Junior Curling Championships that year for Alberta. The team had defeated the Northwest Territories/Yukon team skipped by Kevin Koe in the final. At the 1994 World Junior Curling Championships, the team won a gold medal for Canada, defeated Germany's Daniel Herberg in the final. Mittelstadt later moved to Nova Scotia, and in 2004 joined the Shawn Adams rink as his lead. The team went to the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier where the lost in the final to Alberta's Randy Ferbey. They played in their second Brier in 2011 where they missed the playoffs. Kevin Koe
Kevin Koe ( ; born January 11, 1975) is a Canadian curler. Koe is a two-time World champion and four-time Canadian champion. He was the skip of the Canadian men's team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Originally from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, he now resides in Calgary, Alberta and curls out of The Glencoe Club. He learned to curl at the age of six in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Career Junior career After several trips to the territorial junior men's curling championships, Koe finally won in 1994. This earned him the right to skip the Northwest Territories/Yukon team at the 1994 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. He led the team, which consisted of his brother Jamie at third, second Mark Whitehead and lead Kevin Whitehead to an 8–3 round robin record, in a three-way tie for first. The 2013 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held from March 2 to 10 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. This edition of the Brier marked the thirteenth time that Alberta has hosted the Brier, and the sixth time that Edmonton has hosted the Brier. Jamie Murphy (curler)
Jamie Murphy (born 13 April 1981 in Saint John, New Brunswick) is a Canadian curler from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He is a former skip, and played at his first Brier in 2012. Career Jamie Murphy, originally from Quispamsis, is a former junior curler, representing New Brunswick at the Canadian Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002. Murphy's team had a notable 2010 season, losing in the semifinal of the Nova Scotia Men's Provincial Championship that year. In 2012 the team captured their provincial championship, defeating former Brier champion Mark Dacey. This earned Murphy's team their first trip to the Brier. Paul Flemming
Paul Flemming (born October 8, 1968, in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler. He currently skips his own team out of Halifax. Curling career Flemming's junior team was successful yet failed to ever win the Nova Scotia Junior Men's Championship, losing in the finals four times. In 1987, the team of Paul Flemming, Mike Mawhinney, Glen MacLeod, and Chris Oxner represented Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The team earned an undefeated record in the round robin, including a victory over Ontario's Wayne Middaugh. In the semi-finals of the playoffs Flemming's team beat Saskatchewan to earn a spot in the gold medal match. Kent Smith (curler)
Frank Kent Smith (March 19, 1907 – April 23, 1985) was an American actor who had a lengthy career in film, theatre and television. Early years Smith was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Smith. He was born in New York City and was educated at Lincoln School, Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, and at Harvard University. 2011 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2011 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held March 5 until March 13, 2011 at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario. This event marked the 30th time that the province of Ontario has hosted the Brier since it began in 1927 in Toronto, Ontario and the first time a Bronze Medal Game was added to the playoffs. In the final, Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton defeated Ontario's Glenn Howard 8–6. Team Manitoba were nearly perfect in the game, curling a record 96%. The team led 4–2 after 5, and stole two points in the sixth to take a 6–2 lead, after Howard was light on a draw. Stoughton's win was the first win for Manitoba in 12 years, when he last won the event, and was the 27th title for the province. A total of 8,261 spectators were on hand to watch the final.
