Kelly Meggs
Kelly Meggs (born January 15, 1969) is an American convicted felon who previously led the Oath Keepers' Florida chapter. He was found guilty of seditious conspiracy following his forced entry into the United States Capitol during the January 6 United States Capitol attack. He is due to be sentenced in May 2023 and is facing a maximum of 20 years in prison. Oath Keepers activities Meggs was the leader of the Florida chapter of the alt-right and anti-government Oath Keepers organization. Meggs entered the United States Capitol during the January 6, 2021 attack. He led the infamous "stack" formation of Oath Keepers inside the Capitol. Prior to the riot, Meggs discussed a partnership with the Proud Boys and the antigovernment organisation the Three Percenters; he posted a declaration of these intentions on Facebook. Oath Keepers
Oath Keepers is an American far-right anti-government militia whose leaders have been convicted of violently opposing the government of the United States, including the transfer of Presidential power as prescribed by the US Constitution. It was incorporated in 2009 by founder Elmer Stewart Rhodes, a lawyer and former paratrooper. In November 2022, Rhodes and another leader of the organization were convicted of seditious conspiracy for their actions around the January 6 United States Capitol attack. Along with three other leaders, they were also convicted of obstruction and other felonies. The group encourages its members to disobey orders which they believe would violate the U.S. Constitution. Stewart Rhodes
Elmer Stewart Rhodes III (born 1966) is a disbarred American lawyer and the founder of the Oath Keepers, an American far-right anti-government militia. In November 2022, he was convicted of seditious conspiracy and evidence tampering with regard to the January 6 United States Capitol attack. The Three Percenters, also styled 3 Percenters, 3%ers and III%ers, are an American and Canadian far-right anti-government militia. The group advocates gun ownership rights and resistance to the U.S. federal government. The group's name derives from the erroneous claim that "...the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists..." during the American Revolution.
