Keiler Roberts
Keiler Roberts (born 1978) is an American comics artist from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. In her work, Roberts explores her experience on topics such as motherhood, teaching, mental disorders, and her life with multiple sclerosis from an everyday point of view and with humor. She has been dedicating herself to creating comics since 2009, when her daughter was born, until today, when she combines it with her work as a teacher. She has received the Cartoonist Studio and Ignatz Awards. She was a professor of comics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Biography Roberts was born in Milwaukee in 1978, the youngest of four children, but grew up in Sun Prairie, just outside Madison, both in Wisconsin. She had a happy childhood with her family, but not so much at school, where her relationship with her classmates began to cause serious problems of depression and rejection of her own body from the age of eleven. Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
Sun Prairie is a city in Dane County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. A suburb of Madison, it is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city's population was 35,967 at the 2020 U.S. Census. It is the second-most populous city in Dane County after Madison. History President Martin Van Buren commissioned a party of 45 men, including Augustus A. Bird, to build a capitol for the Territory of Wisconsin in Madison. The group left Milwaukee on May 26, 1837, and traveled for days in the rain. On June 9, the group emerged at the edge of the prairie and with the sun shining for the first time in days, carved the words "Sun Prairie" into a tree. Charles Bird returned to the area two years later and became the first settler. The Town of Sun Prairie was created on February 2, 1846. The village of Sun Prairie, which grew from that town, was incorporated in an act of the Wisconsin legislature on March 6, 1868.
