Keep Of Kalessin
Keep of Kalessin is an extreme metal band from Trondheim, Norway formed in 1993. The group's early lineup consisted of Ghash on vocals, Obsidian C. (the group founder) on guitars and keyboards, Warach on bass, and Vyl on drums. They released two albums under this lineup: '' Through Times of War'' in 1997, and '' Agnen: A Journey Through the Dark'' in 1999, before splitting up. Obsidian C. then toured with Satyricon, but revived the Keep of Kalessin name for a 2003 EP, '' Reclaim''. In 2006, he reconstituted the group with a new lineup and released a third full-length, '' Armada''. They toured with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir early in 2008. Their fourth album Kolossus was released on June 6, 2008. They take their name from Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea series of books, where Kalessin is the name of the arch-dragon who is the bearer of the Earthsea world. Devilstone Open Air
Devilstone Open Air (aka "Velnio Akmuo" in Lithuanian) is a summer open air rock and metal music festival. It takes place annually since 2009 in the town of Anykščiai, in Lithuania. Devilstone Open Air has included performers playing black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal, sludge metal, doom metal, post rock, stoner rock, and progressive rock music genres. Music bands from Europe, North and South America, and Australia have performed in the festival. Devilstone Open Air is usually held in the mid-summer, around the third weekend of July. Dimmu Borgir
Dimmu Borgir () is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. Behemoth (band)
Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground. Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. Reclaim (EP)
''Reclaim'' is Keep of Kalessin's first EP. It was released on 6 December 2003 in the United States and in Europe on 15 January 2004 as a mini CD. It was recorded in July 2003 in ''Silverstone Studios'' and ''Schweinhund Studios''. The EP was produced by ''Schwein'' and Obsidian C. The EP was mixed by ''Schwein'' and mastered by ''Masterhuset''. The cover design was done by ''MultiMono'', by Asgeir Mickelson Frost (Satyricon) heard the new Keep of Kalessin material and immediately said yes when Obsidian C. asked him to do the drumming on this new EP. Touring with Satyricon also made it possible for Obsidian C. to recruit the legendary Attila Csihar for the vocals on ''Reclaim'' who is well known for the vocals on Mayhem´s De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. ''Through Times of War'' is the first studio album by Norwegian black metal band Keep of Kalessin. The album shows a combination of fast, dark and epic black metal. The band went on to embrace more elements from the thrash metal genre, receiving even more widespread appeal. It was originally released through Avantgarde Music, but was re-released through several others. It was re-released through World War III in 2002, by Avantgarde Music a second time in 2006 and by Snapper that same year. Peaceville Records is known to re-release this album as a digipak in 2007. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family.
