Devilstone Open Air
Devilstone Open Air (aka "Velnio Akmuo" in Lithuanian) is a summer open air rock and metal music festival. It takes place annually since 2009 in the town of Anykščiai, in Lithuania. Devilstone Open Air has included performers playing black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal, sludge metal, doom metal, post rock, stoner rock, and progressive rock music genres. Music bands from Europe, North and South America, and Australia have performed in the festival. Devilstone Open Air is usually held in the mid-summer, around the third weekend of July. Other activities Next to live music performances, Devilstone Open Air has workshops, masterclasses, a club night called Rocktheque, sports tournaments, and other activities. The festival owns the rights to a one-of-a-kind growling/screaming/grunting competition ''MC Growl''. Anykščiai
Anykščiai (; see other names) is a ski resort town in Lithuania, west of Utena. The Roman Catholic Church of St. Matthias in Anykščiai is the tallest church in Lithuania, with spires measuring in height. Code (band)
Code (stylised or ) are an English black metal band that formed in 2002. History The band formed out of Aort's solo project Seasonal Code with which he had released three demos between 1998 and 2001. The band's founding members were Aort and Kvohst (Mat McNerney). The original line-up consisted of Aort on guitars, Cthonian on vocals and Kvohst from the bands Void and Dødheimsgard on vocals. The band released their first demo, entitled '' Neurotransmissions: Amplified Thought Chemistry'', on 15 March 2002 with music written by Aort and all lyrics by Kvohst. Before they recorded their debut album, Cthonian departed the band and they were joined by Viper aka Vicotnik from the bands Ved Buens Ende and Dødheimsgard on bass guitar. Keep Of Kalessin
Keep of Kalessin is an extreme metal band from Trondheim, Norway formed in 1993. The group's early lineup consisted of Ghash on vocals, Obsidian C. (the group founder) on guitars and keyboards, Warach on bass, and Vyl on drums. They released two albums under this lineup: '' Through Times of War'' in 1997, and '' Agnen: A Journey Through the Dark'' in 1999, before splitting up. Obsidian C. then toured with Satyricon, but revived the Keep of Kalessin name for a 2003 EP, ''Reclaim''. In 2006, he reconstituted the group with a new lineup and released a third full-length, '' Armada''. They toured with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir early in 2008. Their fourth album Kolossus was released on June 6, 2008. They take their name from Ursula K. Ondskapt
Ondskapt (Swedish for "created of evil") are a Swedish black metal band. They have previously shared members with other Swedish metal projects such as IXXI and Shining. History Ondskapt were formed in Stockholm in 2000 by vocalist Acerbus and drummer Nabemih, their guitarist at the time Skamfer came up with the band's name. Their EP ''Slave Under His Immortal Will'' was released through Shining vocalist Kvarforth's label Selbstmord Services in 2001, followed by their début album ''Draco Sit Mihi Dux'' in 2003, Fredric Gråby aka Wredhe was brought to the band to play bass and additional guitars on that album. Mayhem (band)
Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Langhus in 1984. They were one of the founders of the Norwegian black metal scene and their music has strongly influenced the black metal genre. Mayhem's early career was highly controversial, primarily due to their notorious live performances, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin ("Dead") and the 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth ("Euronymous") by former member Varg Vikernes ("Count Grishnackh") of Burzum.
