Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Hungarian entry was selected through a national selection format titled again ''A Dal'' (which means "The Song"), consisting of three heats, two semi-finals and a final, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster MTVA. ByeAlex represented Hungary with the song "Kedvesem", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and finished in 10th place in the final, scoring 84 points. Before Eurovision ''A Dal 2013'' ''A Dal 2013'' was the second edition of ''A Dal'' which selected the Hungarian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Alex Márta (born 6 June 1984), better known by his stage name ByeAlex, is a Hungarian Hungarian indie, indie pop singer, songwriter, journalist, and novelist. He Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song "Kedvesem", coming 10th in the final. In 2014 his debut novel ''Özséb, egy öngyilkos Miskolcon'' (Özséb, a suicide in Miskolc) was published in Hungary. Eurovision Song Contest 2013
The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was the 58th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Euphoria" by Loreen. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at Malmö Arena and consisted of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and a final on 18 May 2013. The three live shows were presented by Swedish comedian and television presenter Petra Mede, being the first time only one host had presented the show since the contest. Former Swedish entrant Eric Saade acted as the green room host in the final. ''A Dal'' (English: The Song) is an annual music competition in Hungary organised by the national broadcaster Duna and was the national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest between 2012 and 2019. The contest was introduced in 2012. The contest was introduced by the MTVA, the organisers of the contest, with a different philosophy than the contest used previously. A Dal was introduced to produce a Hungarian contest, with Hungarian musical tastes being presented to a European audience. The contest is also an open one, with all information of the songs being revealed in the selection process. Compact Disco is a Hungarian electronic music band and musical producer trio based in Budapest, founded in 2008 by three musicians of varying musical backgrounds. The band represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. History Origins Lotfi, Pál and Walkó first met in 2005, when Behnam Lotfi's techno producer duo, Collins and Behnam planned to produce a cover version of Adamski and Seal's ''Killer'' and was in search of a vocalist. Monika Hoffman
Monika Reneé Hoffman (11 March 1982) is a Swedish-Hungarian singer and songwriter from Malmö, Sweden Monika Hoffman's was born in Malmö. Her father is Swedish and her mother is Hungarian, so she grew up speaking fluent Hungarian, Swedish, and English. At the age of three she began playing the violin and later on she also began playing the piano and the saxophone. As a child and teenager, she went to various music schools and later went on to study at Berklee College of Music. Dénes Pál (born 19 March 1991, Miskolc) is a Hungarian singer and artist, most notable for winning the first season of the Hungarian version of The Voice, ''The Voice – Magyarország hangja''. Krisztián Éder
Krisztián Éder (also known by the stage name SP) is a Hungarian musician and photographer. Music career Éder formed the band Helyszínelők with several friends. The group released a single and also had a few live appearances, but ceased to exist in 2005. Éder started a solo career after the dissolution of Hélyszínelők. Jonas Gladnikoff (born 11 January 1985) is a Swedish songwriter and music producer. Born in Täby, he began songwriting at an early age. Later in life he moved to Åland in Finland before eventually moving to Stockholm.
