Kedr Livanskiy
Yana Kedrina (russian: Яна Кедрина; born 4 October 1990), better known by her stage name Kedr Livanskiy, is a Russian electronic musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and DJ. Life and career Kedrina was born on 4 October 1990 in Moscow, Russian SFSR. She started her music career as a singer in the short-lived punk rock band Hesburger, after briefly playing drums in a sludge group. During this time, she majored in literature at college, before enrolling to Moscow School of New Cinema. In the early 2010s, Kedrina and her friends started the underground musical collective Johns' Kingdom, which spawned her interest in electronic music. After debuting her tracks under the name Kedr Livanskiy on SoundCloud, she signed to New Jersey-based record label 2MR, which was co-founded by Mike Simonetti of Troubleman Unlimited and Mike Sniper of Captured Tracks. Troubleman Unlimited Records was a record label specializing in indie rock and similar genres. Founded in 1993, the label was based in Bayonne, New Jersey and owned by Mike Simonetti. History The label started as an offshoot of a fanzine called "Wanna Communicate?", releasing 7" singles. The label grew significantly in the 2000s, releasing full-length albums by many groups who are regularly reviewed in media outlets like ''Spin'' and Pitchfork. The label focused on noise rock, including releases from Black Dice, Wolf Eyes and Hair Police. Troubleman Unlimited was named "Best Label" by ''New York Magazine'' in 2005. Outsider house (originally spawned as outsider dance, also known as raw house) is a genre of house music combining elements of deep house, techno, noise, and ambient, with artists embracing lo-fi techniques rather than the polished cleanliness of mainstream deep house and other EDM genres. The term "outsider dance" was first coined in 2012 by DJ Ben UFO and emphasized by music journalist Scott Wilson, referring to different producers and record labels "operating at the fringes of the fringes" such as Laurel Halo, Anthony Naples. Techno
