Neo Soul
Neo soul (sometimes called progressive soul) is a genre of popular music. As a term, it was coined by music industry entrepreneur Kedar Massenburg during the late 1990s to market and describe a style of music that emerged from soul and contemporary R&B. Heavily based in soul music, neo soul is distinguished by a less conventional sound than its contemporary R&B counterpart, with incorporated elements ranging from funk, jazz fusion, hip hop, and African music to pop, rock, and electronic music. It has been noted by music writers for its traditional R&B influences, conscious-driven lyrics, and strong female presence. Neo soul developed during the 1980s and early 1990s, in the United States and United Kingdom, as a soul revival movement. It earned mainstream success during the 1990s, with the commercial and critical breakthroughs of several artists, including D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Maxwell. Their music was marketed as an alternative to the producer-driven, digit ...

The term "record label", derives from the circular label in the center of a vinyl record which prominently displays the manufacturer's name, along with other information. Within the mainstream music industry, recording artists have traditionally been reliant upon record labels to broaden their consumer base, market their albums, and promote their singles on streaming services, radio, and television. A neo soul song, it features teachings of the Five-Percent Nation in its lyrics. The song was released as the lead single from ''Baduizm'' on December 10, 1996, by Kedar Records and Universal Records. A commercial success, "On & On" spent two weeks atop the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, while peaking at number 12 on both the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Critically acclaimed, the song won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards (1998). Critical reception Patrick Corcoran from Albumism said that "with its talk of ciphers and cups of tea", "On & On" "cast her as serenely disassociated from the troubles and strife of the world, somehow able to rise above it all." Larry Flick from ''Billboard'' wrote, "While everyone else is trying to mimic Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige, newcomer Badu is goi ...

Long Time No See (album)
''Long Time No See'' is the third studio album by American singer Chico DeBarge. It was released by Kedar Entertainment and Universal Records on November 18, 1997 in the United States. Chielfy produced by DeBarge, it peaked at number 86 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. Critical reception AllMusic editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine rated the album three out of five stars. He found that ''Long Time No See'' "tries desperately to fit into the trends of the '90s, adding street-level, bass-heavy rhythms and hip-hop beats to his productions ..Chico weathers the changes quite well, but he can't make the mediocre tracks (and there are too many of them) convincing, and that prevents ''Long Time No See'' from being completely successful. Even so, it's a solid, respectable comeback that suggests DeBarge may be able to regain some of the ground he lost in the early '90s." Pepsi
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. Originally created and developed in 1893 by Caleb Bradham and introduced as Brad's Drink, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then shortened to Pepsi in 1961. History Pepsi was first invented in 1893 as "Brad's Drink" by Caleb Bradham, who sold the drink at his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina. It was renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898, "Pepsi" because it was advertised to relieve dyspepsia (indigestion) and "Cola" referring to the cola flavor. Some have also suggested that "Pepsi" may have been a reference to the drink aiding digestion like the digestive enzyme pepsin, but pepsin itself was never used as an ingredient to Pepsi-Cola. The original recipe also included sugar and vanilla. Bradham sought to create a fountain drink that was appealing and would aid in digestion and boost energy. In 1903, Bradham moved the bottling of Pepsi from his drugstore to a rented warehouse. That year, Bradham sold 7,968 gallons ...
